Quaint location. Friendly service. Ordered off the side order menu with no complaints from the staff. Coffee good and the best part was bottomless refills. Food was served quickly and warm. As you can see from the picture portions were adequate leaning toward skimpy. I requested dry toast with butter on the side and over medium eggs and received exactly that. I was looking for. A local mom and pop small traditional breakfast eatery and I would say they met all of my requests. I would definitely recommend them with the caveat that if you're looking for something big city fancy and upscale This is not your place. However, if you're looking for good value, good food, good service, good location this place hits the mark. I'm hesitant to give this place five stars because I don't feel there are many places that deserve all five. However, I couldn't find anything wrong with this place and can't justify giving them anything less.

This is a great little spot! I had the chorizo benedict and my daughter had the full stack of pancakes. The chorizo bendict was delicious and why don't you find that other places!?! The maple syrup was a bit flavorless, and not very sweet. I don't have a sweet tooth but it was blah. My daughter was a good sport and asked for more hoping it would help but it didn't. They have a good variety of fruit toppings which may point to the lack of flavor in the syrup? The pancakes are approximately between 5 and 6 inches in diameter. I would have expected them bigger because this place has a "get a lot for your money" feel. They were good but standard. The service was wonderful!! Super clean bathrooms. It looks like the toilets are brand new!

This has been my go to place in the gorge for breakfast. No hipsters here, just down home locals looking for a great breakfast at a reasonable price. A true oasis away from the hype across the river. I am a sucker for a chicken fried steak and this place makes a great one. Crisp even under the gravy and the eggs are always cooked as ordered. You want medium, you get medium. Easy and you get easy. It seems not worth mentioning but you'd be surprised how many places can't even do this reliably. Biscuits are good and worth ordering but not the best ever. If you're in the area do yourself a favor and cross over to Bingen for a great meal in a real small town diner. 5 stars all day long.

My dad, my aunt, my husband, and myself went fishing for King salmon on the Columbia River. We are from Spokane. On our way home we stopped for breakfast at Carmen's Kitchen early in the morning. Let all four of us tell YOU it was the absolute BEST breakfast we have all four had in our entire lives. My dad is 79, my aunt is 71, my husband is 60 and I am 58 years old......so that is A LOT of breakfasts in our four lives!!!!! Let me tell you it is worth the drive. All of the food was extremely fresh, void of fat or grease......just absolutely fantastic!!!!! If you are the owner of a breakfast restaurant you need to travel to Carmen's and see how it is done to perfection!!!!!!!! We will make the drive again soon I guarantee you just...
