Cinco De Mayo — Restaurant in Black River Falls

Wow, I could never be more disappointed... this had a 4.4 stars review, so I thought it was a nice little restaurant we could grab some grub. The server came over and took the order immediately... then it all began. The kid running around the restaurant threw a toy or candy at us picture below / and we saw him bother other customers jumping on their seats and such. Then we wait 30 minutes for our food for the server to come up and was like "did you guys get your food yet" no lol so I'm assuming the order was never put in she comes back another 15 minutes later with a few plates and she says "I don't know what this is" and hands the plats out randomly. My s.o starts eating his food and so does his friend. me and the friends s.o wait for our food mine comes out first. The waitress comes back out and says they are making a steak one. Well, that's not what she orderd she orderd chorizo. So I tell the waitress, and she goes and puts in the order in she comes back and tells us we have to pay for the extra plate. "No." I say we didn't order that, and it's not our fault you didn't know what you're handing out. She she tells us if my s.o. gives his HALF EATEN PLATE BACK.. we won't have to pay. Ok, hands the plate to her. Done deal. Now my s.o and my s.o's friends girlfriend sit without food whike we eat in front of them another 10 minutes later they bring my s.o food and then 5 minutes later they bring out hers we all finish and get ready to leave and go to the bathroom the witch are ok but kinda dark. So we pay, and the bill is 90 dollars. idk if all that was really worth it, but a little work on this place, and it could be...

Beautiful Mexican place. Great food selection. Some dishes you don't see in every other Mexican restaurant. Husband got the Flag Burrito which positively surprised us as it was 3x bigger than the picture in the menu suggested. I ordered the Cinco de Mayo Salad with grilled shrimp. It was very disappointing. It was served on a flat plate, the size of a side salad or appetizer. It was not labeled as such in the menu. I expected a main dish salad. The lettuce was fresh but dry. Tomatoes where very nice. Shrimp were very tasty. The salad was served without any dressing. After a couple of bites, we called the waiter back and complained about the size of the salad. His answers were 'that's how we always serve it's and 'what do you want? Do you want to order another salad?' Hmmm, I don't think it's my job to tell him how to make an unhappy customer happy. But here are some suggestions: offer no charge for the salad or another one at no charge; offer $xx off; offer free beverages, offer a free dessert, ... Or I guess just leave it as is, and don't care. Unfortunately, that's what happened and if the restaurant interior wasn't as pretty and hubby's burrito wasn't as good as it was, I would have given a lower rating. Will we be back? Maybe. But I won't be ordering a salad, and I will be asking about the size and quality of the dish thinking of ordering. And I will be prepared to ask for something to make it right if it was way less in any way than what I expected. Not really the thoughts I want to carry when...

Used to be Pretty good food.. typical atmosphere of this style restaurant. Been here a few times as well as ordered takeout, figure it was time for a review. Really used to like the place. Overall I would say the food is was average but has been declining. Seems whenever I place an order for pickup my bill never matches the cost this is my third time noticing it so I figured it was worth saying. 2 toastaguac 3.99 a piece and a order of 3 tacos 12.49 w tax is 21.59. yet our bill this time was 28.59 not sure how And this is not the first time I have noticed this. the prices seem to not match. In fact way high and they do not offer itemized receipts.. customer services below average subpar. Also I would avoid the shredded chicken as we found on our second visit what we believe to be birdshot BBs inside of it. It was definitely a small round metal or lead objects we did show it to the lady at the register.. They apologized and tried to keep it hush hush when I spoke out loud about it whispering their apology. We chose not to eat another bite afterwards she did remove it from our bill and took it away fast before other customers could see.. So we have chosen to stick with the grilled chicken and the beef which we have had no issues with other then quality has gone down. It's definitely not the best Mexican restaurant I've been to, by any means but it's was the only one in town.. but I think for tacos strictly I prefer the super street tacos and they will get my business...
