El Vaquero Restaurant — Restaurant in Blackfoot

I took my family to El Vaquero on (2) two separate events for dinner and had different experiences on each visit. The first time, my wife and I ordered both the beef and chicken fajita meals. They were OUTSTANDING!!!

The second time, we ordered the same thing because it was amazing. This time, we did not have the same experience. Both of our fajita dishes did not have any green, red, or orange bell peppers, but it did have an abundance of onions & mushrooms. Personally, I had never had mushrooms in fajitas before and needless to say, I did not enjoy it.

Both the chicken and beef were cooked very well and was tasty, as was the rest of the dish. I called the waitress (I believe she is also the owner) and inquired and she said they were out of bell peppers. I told her the rest of the meal was awesome.

If you are looking for some really good Mexican food, you should give El Vaquero a visit. The price may seem a little steep until you get your dish!

I usually call my order in before I go pick up and I usually get the same kind lady who's always there. I literally just called and someone, who clearly wasn't the kind lady I'm used to, answered and it was a woman but she answered and as I said what I wanted someone started laughing, this sounded like a man, and she was laughing too and just said, "what!?" In a very disrespectful tone. I didn't feel like putting up with it and hung up instead. So to the girl that answered and whomever was with you, I suggest you not work in customer service because it's clearly a joke to you and you are not professional at all. I will definitely never come back and suggest others from the community not to either, there's a reason why I'm just another one of your one...

The service was disappointing; the staff seemed rude and uninterested in their work. We ordered a mariscada that was supposed to be fresh, but it arrived overcooked and unappetizing. As a Mexican, I understand that seafood is particularly delicate and can pose health risks if not handled properly. When we shared our concerns about the food, it became clear that the staff didn’t fully understand how it should be prepared.
