I am usually not one to rant about a restaurant or business, but these people were very rude. My daughters and I went to Vazquez restaurant here in town and placed a to go order. It was going to take 15 minutes, which was okay with us. We decided to walk down their hallway to their ice cream shop. This was our first time in there. They took about 5 minutes to get to us, again that was okay. We had time to kill. While the lady scooped our last ice cream she told me they don't accept cards. I apologize and told her I didn't know. She gave me such attitude and said well it's because people usually don't pay for it...I have no idea what that meant. I asked her if we could pay for it in the restaurant. She said yea just this time but next time she can't do it. And again she said all of this with attitude. How was I suppose to know? We didn't come through the front door we just walked in from their restaurant. When she rang us up at the restaurant register she began talking to one of the other employees about us in Spanish. She was telling her that she got busy in the back with us and now has to ring it up in front. Then the ice cream tasted horrible. When our order was ready we took it and left. By the time I got home I realized they didn't give us our drink. So I called them and let them know. The lady said well do you want to come back and get it. I told her I live to far to just go back. She said okay well you can come back when you can to get one. She was about ready to hang up when I asked if she'd like to take down my information. She paused for a moment then said oh okay yea. So I gave it to her. I finally was able to come in town, just to recieve more horrible customer service. The lady at the counter was counting her till. I stood back just out of respect and give her a moment. She just looked up at me. I told her what had happened. And she gave me the dirtiest look as to say what do you want me to do about it. I just asked if I could get my drink. She asked what it was. I told her and she didn't even ask for my information. She just left to the back in a huff. Then gave it to me with no apology or have a nice day. Honestly I will never...
Read moreI've gone here many, many times and found that I really like the food here... of all the Mexican food n Blackfoot, this is probably the closest Mexican food to what I grew up with in the Los Angeles area. Tacos are Baja-style with cilantro and onion, and their burritos are big and wonderful. I really like their pinto beans they use in their burritos, and you won't find me saying that very often.
Quick warning: watch out for really busy times... when they get a really high volume of customers, wait times can vary dramatically (not that I have seen very high volume during the pandemic, but before it started, I made it a point not to go at really busy times).
My favorite 3 burritos here (I couldn't pick just one): The Adobada burrito -- I tend to like all the spices in Adobada, and the way Vazquez combines the Adobada with rice, beans, cilantro, and onion, it makes a really, really good combination of flavors, assuming you like Adobada seasoning. The Vazquez burrito -- This is basically your standard asada burrito with rice, beans, etc., and as I mentioned earlier, I really like how they do their beans here, so this burrito really hits the spot. The Carne Asada Fries burrito -- If you're really feeling extra hungry, this one is a combination of fries and asada, with some sort of really nice sauce that brings it together. This one is my wife's favorite.
The quantities on the burritos is really good here, and the taste and size may vary from one shift to another, but no matter which variant comes out that day, their food is still pretty awesome and worth a 5-star rating...
Read moreAs a South Eastern Idaho Bertos connesiur this review could be bias, but a coworker reccomended Vazquez after I expressed my passion for Bertos. I went through the makeshift drive thru and was greeted by a fellow who could not talk directly to me, I wasn't sure if he was taking my order or talking to the wall adjacent to me, luckily he mumbled the words "anything else" and I asked for red salsa. 10 minutes later I received my Carne Asada Fries burrito, I didn't realize until I left but I was given green salsa. The burrito itself was dry and lacked the beefy, cheesy flavor of the typical carne asada fries burrito. I truly wanted to love this place, but it wasn't...
