Blackhawk BBQ Pit — Restaurant in Blackfoot

Awesome place for dinner. My wife and I stopped in Blackfoot on our way up to Banff. We took a chance on Blackhawk BBQ Pit based on the other reviews and the name (my wife and I are Chicago Blackhawks fans).

I got the Hog on a Log and my wife got the Loaded Mac and Cheese. Both were outstanding and each won awards at the local county fair. If I had to pick between the two dishes, I’d say go with the Loaded Mac and Cheese, but you can’t go wrong with either.

The staff were incredibly nice and helpful. In addition to helping us decide what to get, they gave us some free samples of other items on their menu, including beef brisket, pulled pork and a sausage. Each and every one was great. Their BBQ sauces are really good too. We ended up buying a bottle of their regular BBW sauce to take with us.

Do yourself a favor if you’re in this area and go eat here. I guarantee you won’t be disappointed. The location is an old converted gas station and you eat right in the old service bays. Nothing fancy but I love when people repurpose old buildings. If you’re a strong supporter of the military and public safety people, you’ll love the vibe here. The prices are very reasonable too and the portions are generous. Our total bill for both dinners was around $22.

This review is based on the Blackhawk BBQ pit trailer that comes to Pocatello. I have not been to the actual location in Blackfoot, but I will probably be going there soon. I highly recommend Blackhawk BBQ if you like great BBQ. This BBQ food is AMAZING!!! Tender, juicy, flavorful, fall off the bone smoked perfection! I get their ribs and brisket usually, but I plan on trying the other menu items! Portions are a good size and I always get full. I'd love to see chicken wings added to the menu. I'd be a permanent customer if they did! 😉 The people that run the trailer in Pocatello are super friendly. It's easy to strike up a conversation while you wait for your food. I would love to see one of these restaurants in Pocatello. I'd go there all the time! But in the mean time, I enjoy getting the food from the trailer. Prices are totally fair in my opinion especially for the quality of the meat they provide. I have never been disappointed eating here! Good work Blackhawk BBQ, good...

My wife and I heard of Blackhawk BBQ so we went to the Blackfoot garage location. I liked the place. I ordered the Triple Threat and my wife ordered the Hawaiian. My sandwich was very good, stacked with sausage, brisket, and pulled pork. The BBQ sauce is vinegary not my favorite but very good. The sides were great. We ordered the smoked mac and cheese, two orders of cheesy potatoes, and beans. We really liked the cheesy potatoes even though we thought there should be more cheese in them. I still went and got the second order of cheesy potatoes after we ate the first. The mac and cheese was good, not the best I have had but they were good. The beans were good as well. Next time I am going to get a platter that comes with two sides instead of ordering my sides separately. It would be a little cheaper for more food. We also got 1free t- shirt that night on a promo.
