I visited the AT&T store the last week in May because of a SIM card issue on my Samsung Galaxy phone. Lewis fixed my SIM card issue but at the time told me about a promotional offer where I could get a new free phone. Being somewhat skeptical of free offers. I made sure I understood that the only thing I had to do was pay the sales tax on the new phone. However, I received my bill this week and was charged for the phone. So I called AT&T customer service and was told that the reason I was being charged for the phone was that I didn't turn in my old phone. I explained that I was never told I needed to turn in the old phone but would have been glad to do it because I have absolutely no use for an old used cell phone. I offered to turn in my old cell phone now but they said it was too late as there was a 30-day window to do that and that time had passed. However, they said there was absolutely nothing they could do but if I spoke with the person who set me up with a deal that they could remedy the situation. So on Friday of this week I called the AT&T store and spoke with Lewis. I attempted to explain what had happened. As I was explaining to Lewis what had happened, he continually adamantly denied that he had failed to tell me to turn in the old phone. I pointed out that I had absolutely no use for it and would have gladly turned it in had I known. However, he said that I obviously must have forgotten that he told me. This was not the truth. As we continued to discuss the situation. Lewis hung up on me. Without any help from AT&T customer service or from Lewis, I am now stuck with having to pay over $1,000 for a phone I didn't want. Again the only reason I took the deal was that it was " free except for sales tax. ". I have read some of the nice reviews about Lewis and I can't understand why he dealt with me in this fashion unless I just happened to catch him on a bad day. So I would simply say that when it comes to special deals that AT&T offers, especially coming from Lewis, I would suggest buyer beware. And if you like rude belligerent customer service then Lewis...
Read moreDear Jordan from AT&T in Blairsville,
Today, I came to you because I just joined AT&T a few days ago and I could not transfer my old phone info to my new phone. Since my primary account holder lives in Florida (which means my sales rep lives in Florida), he was unable to figure out why my stuff wouldn’t port over. I kindly explained this to you where your response was “I work on commission.” After begging you to please help me, you stated my issue was an “Apple issue.”
I cried in my car while calling the AT&T store in Hiawassee. Lily- The Store Manager- heard through sobs that “I needed help” and she told me to come to the store immediately.
It took Lily a whole 2 seconds to figure out what I needed done. While porting my phone over, we shared stories about our husbands and our lives. I went next door to Blazin Scoops (shout out to them!) and got Lily and me ice cream cones. She sold me 2 screen protectors, a car charging/car dock, and AirPods (look at Lily making commission!) while we waited.
After everything was all said and done, I showed her the reason why getting my text messages back were so important to me. You see, In 2018 my father died. I had already lost my mother years before, so my father was very precious to me. The daymy father died of a sudden heart attack, the little kids in the neighborhood taught him how to send voice clips. He was so proud of himself that he learned this that he sent me a voice clip telling me how much he loved me and missed me. That night, my father died and I was left in shambles. I listen to that voice clip about once a week.
I recommend the AT&T in Hiawassee- Lily- to EVERYONE and anyone. They care about people; I wasn’t just a commission check to her. I was with Verizon and we are now saving $200 a month by the switch. My service has been great and I absolutely recommend everyone going to see her about switching...
Read moreOver the span of 4 nights, 9 different AT&T online help "experts" were not only not able to help me, but made my problem exponentially worse to the point where they had unregistered my phone from any wireless network, my phone could not make or receive calls, could not send the received texts and could not enable Wi-Fi calling - which was the original problem I was trying to get resolved. The store technician fixed all of those problems in less than 10 minutes and gave me a brand new SIM card, because i'd been using a year's old 3G/4G SIM card without knowing it. To say that the online agents were idiots is an insult to idiots. They didn't listen to me, just followed their script without even trying to think for themselves, and made assurances of solutions that I told them their predecessor had done, but ignored that and just chose to be...
