Dakota’s — Restaurant in Blanchard

I tried to place a To-go order over the phone 2x and was told to "hold please" then was hung up on both times. I tired to call back and it was like the phone was off the hook. I drove to the location as I live down the street anyway and requested the order at the counter. as I was the only customer in line I spoke to the manager who was taking my order and explained what had happened over the phone thinking there was possibly a problem with their lines bc it was raining that day. the woman explained that she had hung up on a few people and that she couldn't hear them over the phone after saying hello several times. I explained that the person I spoke with had heard me over the phone and asked me to hold then hung up. ( I said all this without a hint of annoyance in my voice because I was still thinking there was somthing wrong with their phone and also bc I'm 27 and she's 60 something and I respect my elders). This obviously annoyed her and she said with a wave of her hand "well it wasn't me, can I take ur order? " Now I'm getting annoyed I say finally "I just wanted to make you aware because I'm not happy with the way Iv been treated." She said nothing to that. all I wanted was a simple "sorry about that" because now I had to park in the far parking lot and walk in the rain to place my order then walk back out in the pouring rain to wait 20 mins for my food then walk back in and back out with my food. Instead I got a snarky older woman being rude to me and not even saying thank you after I gave her my business. You'd think she would know better, I would expect this type of behavior from a high school kid not from a 60+ owner of the establishment. I will not be eating here again. The food is sub par, the menu is odd, the management is clueless and the hours suck. KT's smoke house is right down the street and I don't have to deal...

After a must unfortunate interview my husband and I were looking for some form of sustenance in route back to the house.

We decided to stop in at Dakota's where we waited to be seated and looked over the specials. My husband ordered a sweet tea while I ordered an unsweet tea w/lemon after being seated.

The teas arrived and we placed our orders. My husband ordered the fried bologna sandwich with a mac and cheese as well as a bowl of beans and side of cornbread, with myself selecting the fried bologna sandwich and chips.

As we settled in my husband asked me to confirm that he did order a sweet tea as he usually does. He audibly had as he always does. Yet was given unsweet though without a lemon.

The sandwiches were delicious, the bologna was well cooked and the dressings fresh. We were able to see why it was one of the specials for today.

Unfortunate, when our food arrived, my husbands mac and cheese was cold yet somehow the cheese remained liquidus... perhaps heavily watered down? His bowl of beans was also cold. When the waitress came around to check on us he requested a couple of to go containers so he could reheat them once home.

The waitress did offer to have them reheated however we were ready to head home. As my chips were also cold and somehow soggy? Though saw no point in mentioning it at this point.

We approach the register to pay where we are asked how everything was. My husband responded that his sides were cold, which is when the hostess rang in "he should have said something"... i say this now as at the time it was not warrented, with all do respect Ma'am, he did when requesting the to go boxes.

My husband and I have visited Dakota's restaurant for years however this last experience was shocking. We had a waitress named Tonya who from moment one had pupils as large as saucers and couldn't stop chatting a million miles a minute OBVIOUS DRUG ADDICT. At first she kept chatting about inappropriate things when we tried to place our order. Then she forgot our order and kept coming back to the table. Finally the order got placed but never showed up. When we caught her she wanted to chat again for another 20 min we had to finally say Hey is our food ready you might want to go check. She ran off and returned with the order completely wrong another forced awkward inappropriate chat and she returned it. I took this opportunity to speak with the manager (the owner wasn't in) I was SHOCKED when I mentioned the obvious pupils enlarged and strung out behavior. I don't know if she was new but all we wanted was a different waitress maybe our check compted. But she couldn't be bothered it was shocking! I don't know what has happened to this place but I hope it turns back around soon. Looking at half their staff you have to wonder who else does.... what??? considering the reaction. I would stay clear I don't know how they are keeping their standing with the better business bureau hiring obvious drug addicts on their payroll. After trying to speak with the manager after waiting over an hour for food we simply paid and left with no food it was being remade. I would avoid this place for anyone wanting a non drama night out away from the kids, sadly we left far more stressed and disappointed than...
