I'm surprised that I haven't tried Nonni's yet, given I used to drive by this area all the time. An acquaintance of mine recommend I stop by and even said this was his favorite pizza. I was skeptical given the relatively low ratings, but glad I gave them a try. I ordered the cheese calzone (medium) and baklava. The calzone was fairly priced (not cheap though) for the portion. They serve it with some marinara sauce on the side and also some tomato sauce on the inside. It wasn't too soggy but it also didn't have much crunch. The dough was just okay. I got a few pieces of tomato skin inside the calzone, but that's not a big deal. The marinara sauce was subpar. I'm not sure if it is homemade. In any case, it was completely cold when we picked up the pizza. Seemed like they just took the sauce out of a jar from the fridge, not even bothering to reheat it. The cheese in the calzone was quite good, though. This ricotta was very creamy and almost spreadable; it's not chunky or milky like in other places. Good amount of mozzarella too. The baklava was cheap for the portion. It wasn't very well soaked or as sweet as I would have liked it to be. Again, not sure if it is homemade (honestly doubt it, and doubt that any of the desserts are homemade but I could be wrong). But again, it's fine for the price. All in all, Nonni's is an okay option for those pizza and Italian American food lovers in Blawnox. Some of the food is a bit subpar, but the prices are competitive and the food is quickly made.

As soon as the older woman answered the call she yelled at us to speak up because it’s lots of noise I read of kingly asking to speak up due to the extra noise. And I mean Literly yelled to the point where I told my partner to just hang up and not order but we continued. The food got here and my tiramisu is freezer burned, the fried shrimp is frozen from a box and the two gyros were so hard that my mouth is cut up. I didn’t bother calling for a refund cause of the angry old woman yelling at me the first time. Pls don’t order from here nothing is fresh. Even the gyro meat had a crust which means they didn’t cut off the hardened part before serving they put it straight on the sandwich. Horrible service. And if the owner sees this I want a refund for my order.

Super sad to have to post this review because the food is really good and we’ve never had problems until tonight! My husband and I placed an order through GrubHub like we usually do. Right when the food was supposed to be here my husband’s phone started ringing off the hook. We could only assume it was the driver calling because the call kept dropping after more than a minute each time with my husband answering and not getting a response. Finally we called back on my phone and got through to the driver. He INSISTED that the food had been left on our porch and would not believe us when we said it wasn’t here. We realize our address can be tricky because the next town over has the same street and address, but not the same house numbers, which we tried to explain. The driver absolutely would not listen, so I called the store. The person I spoke to was not helpful at all, just in a rush to get me off the phone and offered no solution other than he needed to wait until the driver got back to find out where he left the food. Nowhere around here, that’s for sure! We checked outside 5 times, including I went out as soon as the first call came through, nothing there and no cars obviously pulled over for a short time.

We wound up cancelling the order and getting a refund through GrubHub. Again though, super saddened by the lack of service because we liked ordering from here and had several times before, but definitely won’t be back...

I'd give Nonni's place 0 stars if I could. The pizza is okay, but the service is beyond awful and getting progressively worse. The previous 3 times we ordered from here were tolerable, but after this past experience I will never give them my business again.

Tonight, my wife and I ordered a pizza for delivery. After an hour with no pizza, my wife called in asking where it was. The man (owner?) on the other end of the line started SCREAMING at her, claiming that our address was too far away. However, this didn't stop them the previous several times we ordered from Nonni's, only tonight. He then claimed that the pizza had just left.

A half-hour after my wife called, the pizza still had not arrived. This time, I called in, the same man picked up the phone and recognized my order. I pointedly asked him where my pizza was, and he started yelling at me too.

The pizza finally arrived a few minutes later, and the delivery driver told me that Nonni's cancels online orders when they get busy. (After reading several of the reviews here, I believe it.)

Overall, the combination of slow service and a rude, combative owner means that Nonni's is not worth my money, time, or patience. However, I hope that anyone who reads this review will join me in doing Nonni's a favor; if they can't deal with online orders when they gets busy, I hope you will so the same thing I will and help ensure that they are never...
