J's Peapod — Restaurant in Bloom Township

I’m retracting my last review! I did returned “because the food is good” and to my surprise they’ve been nothing but nice and always make sure I have my EXTRA SWEET & SOUR SAUCE! So it’s only right I update my last review and let it be known they’ve corrected their attitudes and ensure before I leave I have my sauce lol

Hate to do this but when spending my hard earn money especially with the way inflation is I expect to be treated as a paying customer. Whenever I order from here I let it be known all sweet n sour along with extra have no issue with paying for the additional sauce because they’re very stingy with it for some reason, but the cashier rudely says yeah yeah. I get my order I have 3 funky sauces for a large amount of food when I say to him this isn’t enough he says .10 a pack I didn’t have cash so now I can’t use my debit card “Due to $10 minimum” but had you listened to me as I was ordering this negative review could’ve...

The tall slender older man is super rude and totally lacks people or maybe certain people skills whereas the black haired lady appears cheerful. Two days ago l went there for the third time and asked for almond cookies and he said “ $3.00” very coldly. I told him that l had just left their other store on 171st Street and they were $2.75 there. He froze, looked at me as if l was dirt and rolled his eyes at me and shook his head as if l was strange. He said “you have to pay tax.” He slammed $17.00 down on the counter and returned with the cookies and another ugly expression. I am 78 years old and felt this unwarranted behavior from a business owner was just ugly. Sometimes l am quoted a price with tax in various places, sometimes without but l don’t expect to have it rudely clarified - their food is okay but not that okay nor worth paying to be insulted. I hate to leave this review but I visited this restaurant twice in the last 3 days and had terrible service both times. I ordered a small and a large combination fried rice with no chicken. They gave me too larges and would change the order. I asked for extra sauce since I had to keep and pay for an second large that i didn't want and the man had an attitude. In one order there were no shrimp and extra chicken when I asked for no chicken at all. Then I ordered the same again today except the large one we asked for jumbo shrimp. They said they don't do jumbo shrimp fried rice when there is a review on here that says that they do and they put no shrimp at all In the small one... I'm done. Never going back.The new management sucks and the guys that takes the orders...
