Margarita's Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Bloom Township

Never again. My husband and I came here on a whim and it was a bad decision. The booth we sat in was broken on both sides, we both had to sit on the edge in order to be comfortable. The chips were burnt and the salsa was very watery. The drinks were okay, and the only part that wasn't bad. The waitress came over 5 minutes after our drinks were delivered to take our order. We both ordered the same thing. It took 30 minutes for our food. While waiting, a man walks in with a clear container full of candy claiming it was fundraising for girl's softball. It was very sketchy because he wasn't wearing a shirt indicating the team nor did he have a flyer. He went to each individual table harassing customers to buy the candy. If I was the owner, I would have been furious! These people were here to eat at the restaurant, not to be harassed by randoms selling candy. We were about to leave without our food because it took so long. There were only 6 tables full of couples. Only one other couple was in the restaurant that came in after us. Every other table was already eating. Finally our food came out and it was gross. The rice was so oily, the beans were cold, and the enchiladas looked slimy. We both took cautious bites, my enchiladas were hot and my husband's food was cold. We barely ate. The waitress came over, didn't ask what was wrong just said "ready for the check?". We got the bill to make sure they charged us correctly, we paid and left. The overall outside appearance should have been our first clue. The parking lot was full of weeds and trash, the doors and windows were filthy. Plus inside the ceiling still had remnants of spider webs from Halloween. Stay away...

I wanted to try this place because I noticed that alot of traffic come thru there. I go in and I order a chicken burrito, 2 kids chicken tender meals, and for my spouse has a chicken mini chimichanga with a chicken fajita. The drinks are strong and if it wasn't for that, it probably would have been a waste. However, the food is trash. First off the different type of chicken they use is orangish/pink and is big thick cuts on it. The burrito and mini chimichanga had the same meats. There's no seasoning for the meat at all. My children had chicken tenders and that meat was even coated different but what kids do you know who likes chicken tenders not eat them. Breading was off on them. The mini chimichanga was literally just that orangish/pinkish meat. No cheese no lettuce, just huge chunks of meat...the chicken burrito at least had all the ingredients that come with a burrito but still disgusting. Our waiter Elizabeth/Eliz, we told her of this mishap and not once did a manager come over to see what the issue was. So we paid and left and definitely won't be returning. I guess their bar is what really saves them. I suggest changing the chicken products and add seasoning to the meat and to not serve the burritos and chimichanga with huge chunks of meat but to cut them up smaller. The salt shaker had rice in it with a black spot did inform Elizabeth of that, which she told me that sometimes the salt would get wet. Truly confused on how that would happen but idk yall. I have ordered from here several times and its very inconsistent. The workers are usually very nice but aren't not very helpful when there's an issue.

Today I ordered doordash and the restaurant forgot the tortillas for my fajitas. I called the restaurant and they asked me to come and pick up the tortillas but if I could pick them up I wouldn't have ordered doordash. They then said they couldn't deliver the tortillas so they offered to refund only $1 for the inconvenience. So my meal was a disappointment because who eats fajitas without the tortilla?

Also, my one rice container was broken. I order 2 extra sides of rice and 1 was dry and one was really oily. Very inconsistent.

Prior to this order I've ordered the whole snapper 3x. The whole snapper with garlic sauce is good but there's always surprise. It may come with fries it may with rice. The garlic sauce may be thick and made with seared garlic or it may be runny and made with store bought minced garlic.

Also whenever I use my Chase debit card at this restaurant my card gets flagged and account gets frozen until I answer some security questions.

This place is in my neighborhood so it is easy to access and friends want to go here by its close but the inconsistencies aren't good, they can definitely give better service and resolve they're...
