BEWARE! Let me preface this with I never write reviews unless it is absolutely NECESSARY. I called in at 10:24pm (plenty of time to make a simple cheese pie and garlic knots and have it delivered 8 minutes away) and when I called I was told there were no more garlic knots by a very arrogant man so so he handed the phone off to someone else. They said they can make it for us- great. We paid over the phone and when the driver came (way after the 30 mins they said) he had the audacity to say “Give me a nice tip, man.” when handing me the receipt to sign. Not cool. I handed him a $5 bill (I was a server and a pizza driver myself and that’s generous) After I handed it to him, he told me he forgot the 2 liter soda and the store was closed and he was on his way home and that he will bring it tomorrow. Ok great- except not. We take the pizza upstairs and it’s horrible. Holes in the pie and the slice wouldn’t even come off the cardboard. It also is a poor excuse of pizza and I’ve grown up NY/NJ. Garlic knots? Burnt as charcoal. Sauce? I had to recook it myself with more salt, fresh garlic, and oregano.

We call back the next morning about possibly getting another order of garlic and the soda WE PAID for.. arrogant man on the phone said “Okay I’ll send the garlic knots and soda over.” THREE (3) hours pass.... We call back and man says “You again? I’m not sending it now with my guys; if you order again I will send it with your next order” and hung up on us. That’s laughable because I would never pay money to eat that sad food again. Not only did they steal money from us, but they had their chance to do what was right and provide customer satisfaction. How much does it cost them to send garlic knots and the soda WE PAID FOR? Totally ridiculous. I would go in and get the soda myself just for my OWN satisfaction, but writing this review is much more worth my money. Good luck to you guys if you continue to treat your customers like this and please tell your driver to have more class. Wish I could...

Sal Calabrese is a master pizza maker and the rest of the menu is awesome too. My favorite is the Sicilian Baked Ziti with eggplant. OMG:) All his ingredients are fresh and the portions are fantastic. I know my pizza folks and he's in the Top three for me. Nothing of my choices include the fast food chains. I feel like I'm having a meal cooked by Family. Sal always has a great smile and great jokes but also gives you a lot of history regarding the area. I'm a regular and even though I cook 80% of my meals at home, Sal is my go to guy when I don't feel like cooking. His other chef Julio and his mom are like family too. It's really cool to see his family stopping by for a meal. Reminds me of my trips to Italy where I only frequent mom and pop restaurants. He's open Super Bowl Sunday folks so put your orders in early. Tell them James sent...

I can’t say enough wonderful things about this place! From the smiling faces that greet you when you walk in to the delicious food that is prepared and made with pure love! This place is amazing! The pizza is to die for, the garlic knots are a piece of garlic heaven, the calamari is cooked to perfection and most importantly FRESH! All their dinners are are simply delicious. It’s a hard to find a restaurant/take out joint with good food now a days so I appreciate this place so much. Sal and his crew go above and beyond for their customers and it shows through their food & hospitality. Sal & Julio, thank you for always making for your customers feel like family while providing the best pizza/Italian food in the area!

Your forever loyal customer, Jessie (from magnolia...

I read the reviews and my wife reminded me that she had gotten me pizza there one time prior around my birthday. In any case I read the reviews and I gave them a shot. I ordered a grandma pie. Which is more like a grandma Sicilian pie. When I picked it up, it was quite heavy and I actually wait it when I got home and it was 6 lbs. 1 oz. Regardless, I'll give them a good four out of five more like a 4.5 or eight out of 10 I think it's quite good. I am more of an a pizza critic, i eat it quite often. Probably once every week. The gentleman gave me my pie, and was very courteous. The pie was hot and was delivered on time. And it looks quite lovely in presentation. Thanks ! William

Great pizza spot with a very neighborly owner. The pizza itself is better than average by NYC standards, although not the *best* pizza I've ever had. Still very good though: the crust hits that crisp-chew combo just right, and the sauce is spot on. I've only been once, but it seems Sal is probably always ready to tell you his stories. Some other reviewer was mad that they couldn't get some garlic knots at 10:30 pm (after closing time), or some bullsh** like that. It does not surprise me *at all* that they were told to f off. This is a proper Jersey establishment. Forget about it. Just go during actual working hours and you'll be treated right.
