I have been a regular customer here for years, mainly for their delicious frijol and cheese pupusas. I always placed the same order for delivery 2 chesse and 2 frijol. However, my recent experiences have been mixed. The delivery policy is baffling and inconsistent. On one occasion, they demanded a minimum order of 22 pupusas for delivery, which is unreasonable. While at another times, my usual order was accepted. I communicated to them about this and their response was to repeat that the order minimum is 22 pupsas. If their policy changed for some reason they need to communicate that instead pushing me to make a ridiculous large order.
I found out on my own they offer delivery through DoorDash. It would have been helpful to be told this option from the start, rather than feeling pressured to place a larger order than needed.
Being pressured and faced with such erratic policies is off-putting. It's a real shame because their food is genuinely good, but the service inconsistencies and the way customers are treated make for a confusing and unpleasant experience. Consistency in policy and service would definitely enhance the overall experience, matching the high quality...
Read moreInteresting little spot in Bloomfield. This place definitely has Salvadorian vibes. Most of the staff basically only spoke Spanish, which we actually liked because that made it feel authentic! Plus we used Google translate and could see the menu in English. We got the Pupusas and a mango juice/soda. I haven't had many pupusas so I don't have much to compare too, but I really enjoyed them. I thought they were also filling. Their salsa was very flavorful as well, and when I asked for the picante' it was really good (not to spicy - highly recommended!). Extremely inexpensive and worth every penny. My gripes: they only had chicken and beans, and the bottle for the hot sauce had a very weird pourer that made the hot sauce drip down the bottle (kinda nasty since I am not sure who touched it). Traditionally, I would have expected them to have pork, so for them not to have it made us sad. Overall, I give Pupusas To Go a...
Read moreI have lived in Bloomfield for 30 years. We were super excited and soooooo looking forward to trying these pupusas being we live in Bloomfield and we have to drive to Newark to Las Canastillas which by the way make the best pupusas around. My mother in law who happened to be Salvadorean actually made the BEST pupusas. Anyhow, they aren't opened on a Saturday what restaurant is not opened on a Saturday. No one cooks on Saturday but for religious purposes they're closed. I can respect that....moving forward we were finally able to order some pupusas what a disappointment barely any cheese and dry as heck it felt like I was eating a piece of cardboard only dry dough. Pass me glass of water quick type of dry. Oh by the way, my husband happens to be Salvadorean so we know what good pupusa should taste like. Just add more cheese even if you have to charge another quarter...
