It’s unbelievable that this location gets 4 stars! I can’t be the only person who has had terrible service by the unqualified, untrained people who work here. This is an iHop. International House of PANCAKES for goodness sakes! Shouldn’t they know how to make pancakes? I thought so. They do at other ihop locations. Not here. I ordered plain pancakes, sausage, orange juice and coffee. The pancakes were raw! Not cooked long enough. They were still gooy and doughy. They were unedible, like eating the raw batter. So I told the waitress that they were not cooked and I won’t pay for them but I’ll pay for the rest of the food and to bring the check because I want to leave. She said she couldn’t not charge me for the pancakes and would have to get the manager. Ok, so here comes the ‘manager’, a 17-18 year old very pregnant African American girl who now wants to know what the ‘problem’ is obviously all set for an argument. Along side her is my waitress and then someone comes out from the kitchen and kneels on the seat in the booth next to mine facing me so she could get in on the ‘confrontation ‘. I was aghast at this display of obnoxious, un customer friendly service. Unbelievable to say the least. So I told the ‘manager ‘ exactly what I told my waitress. As soon as she started the head and neck swaying, I knew what was coming. I simply stood up, put enough money on the table for the sausage, juice and coffee and walked out the door, leaving the ‘chicken necked’ manager yapping at herself. There would have been nothing to gain by engaging the foolish young argumentative ‘manager’. It’s a goddamn ihop. They should at least be able to make pancakes and serve them courteously and professionally. So, that’s it. Simply the facts of my experience at this ihop location. If, after reading this review, you still go in here, I’m sorry to say, you deserve what you get. Avoid this location. Wish I could give...
Read moreHELLO IHOP OWNERS!! Pay attention to the BAD reviews! They are there for a reason!! Went in with my kids to get them some breakfast. Ordered the sampler with eggs over easy. Kids only wanted pancakes. Waiter came over to me 5 times to ask me how I wanted my eggs. This was done all in a matter of 45 minutes! Had cold coffee. Kids had watered down “sprites”. I went to the bathroom and it was filthy!! Toilet paper every where. No soap. I told the kids if the food didn’t come in another 15 minutes that we would be leaving to a diner instead. I’ve been here SEVERAL times...being a Bloomfield resident...I’ve never had any issues until the past three years that we’ve gone. Every single time I try to go ahead and give it another chance. Food is either burned or bacon comes out practically raw. In this case, thank goodness, I walked out after a WHOLE HOUR of waiting for our food. The place WAS EMPTY!! So, explain to me as to why we were waiting that long? I can do it all in 15 mins but I decided to take a break from cooking and treat the kids. Major disappointment. Something NEEDS to change ASAP! You guys are losing business! Especially from the LOCALS! Wake up and make a change before you all end up without a job. There are plenty of people looking for work that REALLY need it and would do a much better job than the ones presented to all of us diners! Read the reviews! We all can’t be making this up! I’m now avoiding them until I see a pick up in reviews. I only go for my kids but you guys have officially gone down the drain. What would Gordon Ramsey say? 🧐 Oh, how could I forget?? RED lipstick all of my coffee cup. Showed the waiter and he says “oh, would you like one without it?” Lol! No...I’d definitely like a germ infested stained cup to drink out of. Please change or you guys are definitely going to get replaced or shut down. Beyond disgusted and fed up...
Read moreLet me give you the lowdown on the service we experienced. We practically had to play host ourselves because there wasn't a soul in sight to seat us, and it was pretty obvious they were short-staffed. Adding insult to injury, two tables that arrived after us got served before we did, and they were already happily devouring their meals while we wait an extra 20 minutes to get acknowledged (mind you our server was also THEIR server). Finally, when our food made its grand entrance after a good 25 minutes, it was lukewarm, but not the end of the world and my boyfriend's order was completely wrong. He was so hungry that he didn't even mind initially, assuming the server simply misheard him. Turns out, the mistaken dish was surprisingly very good, so he didn’t mind keeping it. But here's the kicker: just as we were finishing our meal, the server saunters over, drops off the correct order without uttering a single word, and walks away like it's no biggie. We were left wondering if we were going to be charged for two full meals! How could they just drop off the food without even noticing their mistake? We had to flag them down to clarify and ensure we wouldn't be billed for the mix-up. Thankfully, they acknowledged their error as my boyfriend ended up with another table's omelette that we were not charged for. It's hard to feel compelled to leave a decent tip when they can't even bother to check in and pay attention to what they are serving you.
So, to sum it up, the service was exceptionally poor, but luckily, the food managed to save the experience, despite the mishaps. But hey, here's some friendly advice to the server: if you're aiming for better tips, it's time to step up your game and be more attentive to what...
