Taqueria Los Gueros — Restaurant in Bloomfield

We have been waiting to try this place for awhile now. We ordered around 4 on Saturday night and the delivery ETD was 4:42. At 5pm after no delivery I called the restaurant to check if our delivery was on its way, the girl on the phone explained that it would be at least another 15- 20 minutes because it was “really busy earlier today”, to which I told her I would rather come pick it up. She told me that since I ordered and paid a delivery fee this was not possible. I told her that I only live a few blocks away and would rather not wait and did not mind that I paid a delivery fee. She still said this was not possible, when I told her I was confused she hung up on me. When I called back, the phone was promptly picked up and hung up immediately. Not happy about this, my husband went to pick up the food, which was sitting in a bag on the counter and the place did not appear to be busy at all. He asked the employee why he hung up on me and she looked shocked but then acted like she didn’t know what he was taking about (although after reading other reviews of this place, it seems that hanging up on customers is a pretty customary practice here). When my husband got home the food was already cold and congealed - so imagine if we had waited another 15-20 minutes for delivery as she suggested. The food, not just because it was cold, was sub-par to say the least- such a disappointment all around. Having worked in the service industry for most of my life I could not believe someone would treat a paying customer this way, especially during these times, when restaurants are already struggling to stay afloat, customer service goes a long way. We will not be supporting this business again when there are far too many others in the area that treat their customers far better with much better food. They clearly need a manager or someone with more interest in the well being of the business there on a...

The food is ok. The carnitas torta wasn’t but had a lot of fat and the chicken tacos were very dry but flavor was alright. Here’s my problem - The “chef manager” on duty on 4/12/21 forgot to include the second bag of chips in my order which is fine, things happen. I called the restaurant and was told there was nothing she could do about it because the store manager wasn’t there. She told me to call her back in 5 minutes after she tried to call the manager. When I called her back, she said the manager didn’t answer so she wouldn’t be able to refund me but that they could apply it to my next order. I said I preferred a refund, I don’t really plan on ordering again. She told me “Well it’s only $2.50, I don’t know what to tell you, it’s not that big of a deal.”. At this point I asked for her name which she wouldn’t give me and refused to let me speak with anyone else. She then hung up on me and BLOCKED MY NUMBER. HORRENDOUS...

Last night was the first time I ordered tacos here. A friend recommended this place and said it was a good addition to the neighborhood. I mistakenly ordered online from the Bloomfield Ave location. I called within a minute of placing the order, was put on hold for two minutes and was told that it was too late to cancel and food was already made. Really? After 4 min? After I pointed that out and insisted speaking to a manager (there wasn’t one present), she agreed to transfer the order to this W Passaic Ave location. So I happily picked up my tacos (2 chicken, 2 al pastor). Sadly, they were the worst tacos I’ve had ever eaten. Tasteless. Dry. One of the al pastor tacos had burnt pieces.
