Davanni's Pizza & Hot Hoagies — Restaurant in Bloomington

We stopped in the other day for a late lunch/early dinner. We have been here many times...and...have had both wonderful service...and...delicious food always. The restaurant was pretty quiet when we arrived. We ordered immediately...and...had our food in roughly fifteen minutes. Everything was made perfectly...as expected. The food tasted very fresh. My favorite item is the veggie hoagie. The ingredients...topped with red sauce...and...cheese all blend so well together on the toasty bun. Their pizza is also pretty yummy. The hand-tossed crust has a nice amount of chewiness to it without being doughy at all. The menu offers a quality variety of pastas...hoagies...pizzas...appetizers...and...desserts. They do also have beer/wine service...with a small bar counter inside. In the back...is a rental room for parties/special events. It is decent-sized. Something I personally love about Davanni's is: they have their own inhouse delivery drivers. I never use delivery apps so...when choosing when to order delivery from...this aspect is of importance to me. This is a great smaller family owned local chain that we will always...

Ordered a pepperoni pizza with extra pepperoni and a salami hoagie with extra pepperoni through the online ordering. Somehow things got screwed up and my pizza came with no pepperoni at all. I called to see if it could be remedied and was greeting with the short and unhelpful answer of "well if it was an online order there's nothing we can do". After getting off the phone with no solution I double checked my hoagie only to discover, you guessed it, no pepperoni. My husband and I just moved in about 3 blocks away but will no longer be going here. Customer service was horrid, no attempt at a solution was made, didn't even get an "I'm sorry that happened". Never again.

Update: The manager contacted me quickly regarding this issue and sent an apology as well as a resolution. We will be trying this location again since the manager stated they will be talking with their staff about the issue. I appreciate the effort that was put in to fixing the situation. 1 star...

My experience happened on a busy Saturday night. A deep dish pizza, hot hoagie, and cheesy bread were ordered. We arrived for a take out order at the end of the time window they gave us for when our order would be ready. The online tracker stated that the food was ready. The person at the counter said it would just be another 6 minutes. We waited another 15 before inquiring about our order again to which we were told that it would just be another minute. We ended up leaving with our food 20 minutes after the online tracker said it was “ready for pickup” once home the pizza was only kinda warm, making us think that is had been sitting for a while. Also there were no spicy banana pepper add-ons on the hoagie that were paid for. Overall pretty disappointed with this visit. I understand that it was a very busy night, but it all seemed very disorganized. Cheesy...
