If I could give this fine establishment a 10/5 stars I would. My wife and I were super excited for this place to open up. We originally tried to reserve a table back in April, around my birthday time. Unfortunately for me they were booked up for awhile. Finally June 1st was the day I was able to get a table. I will say this, the long wait was WELL WORTH IT! First, the food was AMAZING. It was delicious. I could not stop stuffing my face with the delicious side dishes. Once the meat came out, it was game over. We ordered a flight of soju, not disappointed at all. I watch a lot of K-Drama's, I am not ashamed, and one of my favorite K-dramas the lead actor really loves Japchae. When I seen that the menu had Japchae as an extra dish you could order, I was all in. The portion is generous and the dish itself was grand. I did not know what to expect when it came to flavor, but after trying it, I fell in love. Second, the Korean BBQ experience that you will get is incredible. I was delighted that our server as well as the manager, and various other employees, came to our table to show us the proper way to enjoy the meal. We learned the appropriate time frame for when to flip the meat on the grill, to how to do a little lettuce wrap. Third, the dessert was delicious! The beet ice cream was absolutely amazing. It was my first time having beet ice cream. The combination in the dessert dish was perfect. Lastly, The inside of Harmony is absolutely gorgeous. There is a beautiful painting on the wall right before you head to the restroom. The flying umbrellas are just beautiful! The whole place was just radiant. I am super excited to go back again with friends to enjoy the experience. Thank you so much to everyone that worked there that night. I have been looking forward to that night for a long time. It was everything I was hoping the...
Read moreWarning: Not authentic Korean restaurant. Overpriced, low quality dishes. I couldn't eat the food we ordered, had to get something from Steak and Shake afterwards. Sadly disappointed.
Lots of room for improvement with food quality and consistency, in this case referring to Bibimbap (the popular and most basic Korean dish) and Ramen.
Bibimbap: the rice was hard, and cold/luke warm, tasted like an overnight rice. In Asian food, rice is the soul of a dish and must be steaming hot and well made, it is the basic. Lukewarm, hard rice was not an acceptable food to serve customers. The spread of veges and meat on top of the rice was low quality (meat was clumped together and not chewable), not enough varieties, and inconsistent. We ordered two bowls of bibimbap but have different amount of toppings on each bowl. All Korean restaurants' bibimbap comes with free Banchan (side dishes). It is standard, but this place doesn't offer that. The food quality and offering does not justify the hefty price of $16 a bowl and falls below basic expectations of this Korean dish.
Chicken Ramen: the noodles were mushy and clumped together. They tasted like the consistency of a dough. Ramen is supposed to be bouncy and chewy, very basic and important quality for a good ramen. And the broth was lukewarm, like somebody's leftover soup! The whole dish was scarily disgusting. They remediated it by cooking another steaming hot bowl of better cooking ramen noodles for us, it was better. Chicken broth was tasty but could be less salty and overpowering.
Conclusion: Luke warm food, low cooking quality of rice, noodles and dishes, does not meet basic or low expectations of core Korean dishes, disappointing experience overall if seeking decent...
Read moreWent here with my wife and kids tonight and overall had a very nice time. We had a reservation for 6pm on a Tuesday and it wasn't very busy at all. Prices were fairly high as can be expected from Epiphany farms restaurants ,but the food looked amazing. Really nice pieces of meat, dishes full of beautiful color and texture, and overall just food that was really well plated.
My wife and I both ordered the Bibimbap which we both had mixed feelings about... I was expecting something a bit more traditional in terms of items served with/in the bowl like bean sprouts, meat with a bit of a sweeter flavor and firmer texture (this was almost the consistency of finely pulled pork in a sauce that seemed almost a bit sour?) , Maybe some mushrooms and a pickled cucumber. This one was just a bit different and not in a way I personally enjoyed. I ended up sending it back and the server was nice enough to let me order something else, but I felt bad because it was really a beautiful dish, just not really something I personally enjoyed. (If you like Seoul Mama's Bibimbap, this one is quite a bit different) .
The kids had pork belly and the Harmony steak which were both delicious. As was the vegetable platter we ordered as well. Once again, very fresh and vibrant looking veggies and meats.
We tried two desserts and both were beautiful and delicious. Especially the shaved ice.
I love to try new Korean restaurants because I'm not allowed back in Korea after inventing Samsung's famous "always broken" line of washers and dryers which the company is still playing damage control on to this day. Anywho, I'd give this place a 4/5 mainly because of our not so great experience with the Bibimbap. We had a...
