I don’t usually leave negative reviews, but my experience today was bad enough that I felt like I had to. I drive 30–40 minutes round trip to this Sonic pretty often—Sonic is one of my favorite fast food chains and there are not many nearby to where I live.
I placed a mobile order 15 minutes out—Dr Pepper, pizza bites, and the new dill pickle seasoned fries—hoping to avoid a long wait. When I got there, I waited in the mobile pickup spot for 20 minutes, even though the carhop lot and drive-thru was not busy at all . I watched several people pull in and place in-person carhop orders after me and get their food first.
The girl who brought my order was very nice and apologized. I told her no worries, but before I pulled away, I checked the bag. The receipt was correct, but inside were a burger and tots. I went through the drive-thru to get it fixed. The drive thru girl also wasn’t rude at all, but I had to repeat myself a lot. Eventually, I said I'll just pull up and you guys can look at the receipt and I gave them the bag with the receipt on it and after a while I got my new food.
Right as I was pulling out, I double-checked and realized they gave me fried pickles instead of the dill pickle seasoned fries (i checked my online order and receipt it clearly said the right ones on both). At this point, I’d been there for 45 minutes, but I went back through to try again. I explained it was my second time correcting the order and just wanted what I paid for. The person on the intercom (possibly the manager) had a rude tone, insisted I gave the wrong info even though they were not who I interacted with either time, and when I got to the window shoved the bag at me without a word—even though I thanked them. I tried to eat it all on the way home and everything was already cold.

Read moreMy friend and I went to the Sonic in Bloomington, Minnesota today around 9 PM to get a couple of slush’s. We pulled into stall #3 and placed our order. Odd thing being is nothing ever showed up on the screen and we were given a total that didn’t really make sense, $8 dollar and some change. We then waited approximately 15 to 20 minutes with no sign of anyone with our order, so we hit the button again. This time the actual screen shows up and someone says it’s being made but still nothing is entered onto the screen. We wait for another 15 to 20 minutes and still nobody comes to the stall. So we then head over to sit in the drive-through line after overhearing that they are shorthanded and are only accepting drive through orders from someone ordering in stall next to us, this was never told to us by any of the employees or manager. We soon find out why.
We finally get to where you place an order in the drive-through and the person at the window has no idea about the order we had placed almost an hour ago. We ask you to speak to the manager and they refused to do so. They tell us that we have to pay and come to the window. This time the total being $12 and change. I again ask to speak to the manager who is standing right there and still refuses to talk to us and/or comp us for this hour long ordeal, for only 2 slush’s mind you. She also mouths or says some cuss words before basically telling us to leave. So we left. They have lost all of our business and I will be telling everyone to never go to this Sonic unless they change a lot of things.
I will be calling and speaking with the general manager as well as corporate about this because this is completely inexcusable. I would be ashamed to have staff and management that work at such a low...
Read moreAh, Sonic Drive-In, a fast-food establishment that often goes unnoticed amidst the culinary giants of the industry. Much like a hidden gem awaiting discovery, my recent visit to Sonic left me pleasantly surprised and, dare I say it, satisfied.
As I ventured into this roadside oasis, I had modest expectations. A humble, $1.99 burger awaited my discerning palate, and what a pleasant surprise it turned out to be. The burger, though not a gastronomic masterpiece, possessed a certain solidity that is often missing in such budget offerings. The patty exuded a comforting familiarity. It was a reliable companion in the world of fast food, a reminder that sometimes, simplicity can be a virtue.
The fries, however, were the true stars of the show. Golden, crispy, and expertly seasoned, they transcended the ordinary and achieved a level of greatness. Each bite was a symphony of flavors and textures, and I found myself indulging far beyond my initial intentions.
An above-average milkshake, it was a delightful blend of flavors and creamy perfection. The waitress, with a twinkle in her eye, declared that it was "Made with Love," and I couldn't help but appreciate the sentiment. It was a small touch that elevated the dining experience and added a touch of warmth to this fast-food pit stop.
In an industry often defined by haste and convenience, Sonic Drive-In managed to surprise me with its affordable yet commendable offerings. It's a reminder that even in the realm of budget dining, there can be moments of unexpected delight. So, if you find yourself on the road with a hankering for a dependable burger, great fries, and a shake made with a dash of love, Sonic Drive-In may just be the roadside haven you've...
