A Disappointing Experience at Embassy Suites by Hilton Bloomington/Minneapolis JUST DONT DO IT!!
My recent stay at Embassy Suites left much to be desired, and unfortunately, I cannot recommend this establishment based on my experience.
Our two rooms had 6 individuals each but only three towels and no extra linen for the sofa bed. When this was brought up to the front staff attention Amanda stated that was a housekeeping issue and they did not have anything extra to offer. I had overheard her tell another customer that if she spoke Spanish she could ask them and it was her problem.
The hotel pool area also had no towels which created a wet mess all over the floors leading to and into the elevator.
The room I was assigned which I had two booked for a large group was far from the advertised standards. The furnishings were outdated, and the overall cleanliness left a lot to be desired. It felt like minimal effort was put into maintaining the rooms, creating an uncomfortable and uninviting atmosphere.
The amenities, touted as luxurious, were a major letdown.
The staff's attitude further dampened my stay. There was a noticeable lack of enthusiasm and attentiveness. Requests for assistance were met with indifference, and the customer service fell short of the basic standards one would expect from a hotel of this caliber. The Front desk staff Amanda was extremely rude and unprofessional. Went so far as to threaten a customer with added charges to her room, if she came down to complain one more time.
The dining experience was subpar, with the on-site restaurant serving mediocre food at inflated prices. The limited menu options and lackluster presentation did not align with the promised culinary excellence. Nowhere did it state that you were not allowed to drink or eat outside food in the atrium and there was a gentleman who worked at the establishment that seemed as if his only job was to walk around and tell people you’re not allowed to eat outside food here. The staff had a printed document stating that but once again it was not stated in the hotel page. Given the large group I was in we had to all gather in one room some sit on the floor since it’s not meant for a party of 10.
Additionally, the location, though central, did little to compensate for the overall shortcomings of the hotel.
In conclusion, my stay at Embassy Suites was a regrettable experience, marked by substandard facilities, indifferent staff, and an overall lack of value for money. I strongly advise considering alternative accommodations in the area to ensure a more pleasant and enjoyable stay. I reach out to corporate offices and have yet to hear from anyone. This was out of state family traveling to enjoy a family weekend that was met with issue...
Read moreI normally wouldn't bother taking the time to write a review, but Al, the front desk manager, passive aggressively suggested that I do. I don't believe I've ever had someone suggest to me to write a negative review about themselves as a gesture to show how little they care about a guest.||To summarize, I had asked Al, at the front desk if there was any hand sanitizer around the buffet area because I just sat down with my food and wanted to use it prior to eating. He said that there wasn't any in the hotel. I thought that was odd since it seems like it's usually everywhere at Hilton properties and hotels in general. He then fabricated a bizarre story about how hotels were doing away with it because it was too expensive. I didn't think it was an unreasonable question as I usually wash or sanitize my hands prior to eating, especially at buffet lines. Isn't this what we teach children?||I left the front desk in disbelief at the information that Al gave me and walked around the halls and saw that there was plenty of hand sanitizer near entrances to the hotel, so I used that. It was confusing to me because Al said that there wasn't any in the entire hotel. I went back to Al and explained that I found some at the entrances.||Al then took it upon himself to lecture me on how he took a microbiology class in the 70s and said that bacteria and viruses only live on surfaces for approximately 3 seconds. It then became clear that he didn't believe in or understand the transmission of germs, food borne illness, colds, flu, etc. At this point, it was apparent that he didn't care to answer my initial question due to his bizarre personal beliefs. I'm not really sure why he felt the need to try and teach me clearly factually inaccurate information contrary to what I thought was basic common sense. ||After breakfast, I later went back to the front desk to find out what his name was and that's when he made the condescending suggestion to write a review. He also said he would go to Target and buy me hand sanitizer if it was that important to me which was another patronizing statement. I told him about how dismissive his attitude was of such a mundane question and how odd it was he would try and lecture me on something so incredibly basic and he was neither apologetic nor understanding.||It really made me question the cleanliness of the food area and the hotel after hearing this from the front desk manager.||The rest of the staff were great! It's too bad the stay was marred by this...
