We had high hopes for Blaze and even adjusted our vacation schedule to have dinner here, but unfortunately, it was a major disappointment. From the moment we arrived, the experience went downhill. I believe it was the manager who seated us, mentioning that our server would be with us shortly. After several minutes, the manager returned with water, then came back 15 minutes later to take our order himself, as we still hadn’t been greeted by a server.

We received our drinks and had been sitting for about 20 minutes when our server finally appeared, clearly confused that we already had drinks and had placed our order. The food arrived in a reasonable time, and while I enjoyed the duck fat truffle fries, my boyfriend’s experience was ruined when he found a cooked mosquito on his second slice of pizza, which he understandably couldn’t finish.

I had a pumpkin sour beer that was quite good, and my boyfriend was looking forward to ordering a second beer. Unfortunately, after our server briefly checked in on us a few minutes after the food arrived, no one returned to our table for 20 minutes, by which point we were ready to leave.

The atmosphere itself was nice, and we wished we had come earlier just for drinks so we could sit outside in the beer garden. However, the lack of attention, the issue with the food, and the fact that one bathroom had a non-working sink while the other barely had water coming out left us with a poor impression. Of the four days we spent in Blue Hill, Blaze was the only bad part of an...

Got there, plenty of seating, we sat ourselves at the table, our server came over and took our drink order after the host brought us water and cups. Took 10+ minutes for the drink order, then we put our food order in - one order off the appetizer menu and another from the entree menu. As the time went by it became clear that the appetizer order was not coming out. I asked for the order to be cancelled and the staff at the pizza oven said they would find the server and let her know. A good long while later the appetizer and food came out simultaneously and the appetizer order had been incorrectly filled, I let the server know I had cancelled the appetizer but she said I was wrong to expect appetizers to come before entrées. Our Server did not check in with us - not even once. There were only two other parties in the outdoor seating area, it was pretty quiet that afternoon. Water was never refilled, our server didn't even ask if we wanted to order another round of drinks. I had brought someone who had never been to a Blaze establishment before and it's a shame they had the experience we had which is completely different than the many many exemplary/positive experiences I've had at other Blaze locations - notably Bangor.

The entrée was great, the appetizer was tepid service practically nonexistent. Tresha R....

Entertaining awful. We arrived for our 6:30 reservation and waited about 45 minutes for our drink order to arrive—actually it was half of our drink order. The remainder staggered in slowly, culminating with a tonic and lime at 9:15.

The two mixed cocktails didn’t even closely resemble what we ordered—they were undrinkable and the supposed cosmo had a shard of glass in it—which we never knew was part of the recipe.

But we felt extremely sorry for the server, who apologized profusely and seemed to be on the edge of tears. We also heard their colleague apologize at nearby tables.

The grilled Brussels sprouts are delicious. The fish and chips are also good. The salads are terrible. Everything else on the menu that we have had in a half-dozen visits are sub-meh.

We very much want this place to be good. Everything on the menu looks so awesome—which adds to the disappointment when the...

We ordered to-go from here almost out of necessity because there was a very limited number of open restaurants during our trip. We got the fish tacos with a side of mac & cheese, the cheese curds, and the loaded tater tots. The fish tacos looked delicious and were delicious and the cheese curds were amazing! Unfortunately, the mac wasn’t anything special and the loaded tater tots had no freshness to them, they were just a pile of cheesy squishiness. The short rib on the loaded tater tots had a good flavor to it but almost no texture other than mush. One of their aoli sauces as a topping or some chives really would’ve made this dish stand out more especially for the $19 it cost. Overall, I would say everything was alright. Nothing really outstanding. Also, had we been eating indoors, there was a ton of construction upstairs and downstairs was kinda dark and unexciting.
