After reading reviews I walked out of here not only disappointed but actually quite pissed that I had spent so much money for so little. My partner and I split the avocado vinegrettte salad - the 1/2 avo was very underripe and lacked flavor, the 'salad' was just a few waffy thin pieces of baby lettuce, hardly even enough to really share. Have had better, more and higher Quality lettuce for half this price.

For enteees I had the ribeye and partner had the short rib bourguignone. The ribeye was just not a good cut - grisly and very chewy (don't lecture me about how it was ordered , I've cooked hundreds of these) . The ribeye came with a dab of potatoe gratin (the best part of the meal really) and two little thin stalks of asparagus. A total joke of a entree for $34.

The short rib was overcooked really and had little structure and little flavor- there was no noticeable 'burgundy' essence - no mushrooms and no acccompanyjng vegetable - just two little pearl onions and maybe three bites of potatoes.

Then the dessert we had the chocolate flourless cake which was dry and crumbly. $110 for two (one drink apiece) plus tip -and zero happiness, felt like it was a...

I wish I could give this place more than 5 stars. My fiance and I went here during a trip to Bar Harbor and had dinner in the covered patio area. The patios ambiance was incredible and catching it late at night with the lights on was beautiful. For dinner we tried the baked brie, saffron poached pear and beet salad, scallop and lobster pappardelle, roasted halibut, and the blueberry cobbler with homemade ice cream (last one not pictured as it didn't last 🤣). In my fiance's words "this was the best meal I have ever had in my life" and I couldn't agree more. No words or photos would even do justice to how incredible this meal was. This is literally a place I would say to fly to and try immediately. The staff was equally as wonderful, attentive, and friendly. This was a meal I will never forget and I thank them for such a wonderful experience. This is food = happiness in the most...

Arborvine is the shining image of what a restaurant should be like. It provides an excellent atmosphere for all sorts of guests, the food is always consistently delicious and the people who work here do an excellent job of being kind and courteous to every customer.

I come to visit family twice a year in Maine and every visit we stopped by this marvelous restaurant. My usual choice is the oysters along with the lamb. To be honest you can choose any of these delicious entrees and be completely satisfied. In addition the menu changes consistently throughout the year. It is enjoyable to watch this restaurant mature. I am always excited to see what happens next!

So please come down to arborvine! Wear something lovely and bring all of your friends and family to enjoy themselves at this...

Every detail was delicious. We ordered a dozen oysters, Maine simply has the freshest oysters. I loved the chive mignonette slushy. The flavors paired spectacularly. I got the scallops which were good sized and perfectly seared with a slightly tart tomato sauce and oil. The cauliflower purée was a delightful surprise, the carrots perfectly cooked with hints of ginger, the chutney and potatoes were mouth watering. Best meal I’ve had anywhere down east. My husband had the pork, it was fall off the bone with dreamy flavors matching the fare. He got the lemon mousse napoleon and I got the grand marnier mousse. I liked mine best and it had the most beautiful plating. I loved the cozy home feel of the inside dining area. Thank you so much for the wonderful service!

My husband and I just celebrated our 23rd wedding anniversary and always enjoy a staycation around this time of year. We were recommended this restaurant by the owner of a lovely B&B in Searsport (Captain Nickels Inn- I highly recommend a visit) and I’m so glad we were able to get a table at such a busy time of year. The drive from Searsport was lovely (about 30 mins). We got a table in the small dining room which was very cozy. They have a covered patio also which works well in all weather conditions. Our food was amazing!! Our waiter, an older gentleman, made our evening. I’m so glad we discovered yet another gem in the Blue Hills of Maine. We’ll be back.
