Canoe Club — Restaurant in Bluffton

We made reservations for our anniversary and we spoke to staff the day before and requested and confirmed an inside table. Instead, we were seated outside on the porch at a table from inside. Seriously...not sure if there was some miscommunication or what. There was no apology...we were asked if that wasn't "suitable" for us. The guy at the host stand was not friendly or apologetic. The server was very kind and we thought the evening would improve from there, but we were wrong. We were there for an hour before we were able to order entrees. Once the food finally came, it wasn't even hot. Couldn't even eat the mashed potatoes we ordered because they were so cold. We couldn't send them back because no one even came to check on us. At a restaurant of that caliber, we shouldn't have to refill our wine glasses, but we did. The food was sub par, the service was very disappointing, and the host needs to find another job. At the end of the meal, he brought out an anniversary card signed by other staff members of the restaurant...strangers to us. Not to sound ungrateful, but it was such a bizarre gesture. A normal congratulatory gesture would be to bring out a glass of champagne. We felt unwelcome and were extremely disappointed with the whole experience. We should've gone to the River...

atmosphere is really nice and service is good... gets a three star for food portions... food is good, but for $37.00 I got 3 scallops and 3 small broccoli stems... if it was not for getting all the bread we could eat we would have left hungry for sure... mentioned this to waiter who immediately agreed the portions are aweful for the price... they did comp back half the price as a credit so that was appreciated... hope we have a better experience at Coles restaurant ... if portions are increased or if you had some sides it...
