I eat here all the time, & not just due to the lack of options, these folks truly know how to cook some delicious food. The new Restaurant they recently had built and moved into is pretty fkn nice. Its basically just one large open dining area, which helps to keep you feeling comfortable, especially during peak hours. I was reading the other reviews and laughing at a couple that were extremely high praising from people who just happened to be passing through. This got me thinking of how great they typically, truly are, and the few terrible reviews I came across are what caused me to go ahead and leave this positive one, because, as someone who orders from them frequently, I can personally attest to their overall consistency and outstanding cooking. The worst review I seen had given them just one star due to them being closed on a Saturday, which if they were, is NOT their typical hours. The review had a response from someone trying to explain and asked them to change the one star, and I hope they do. I just don’t think people realize it, or they’re sometimes those “unpleaseable” people, we all know a few, who are incapable of being satisfied, and wanna spread their negativity to everyone else, but leaving one or two star reviews could potentially be detrimental to any establishment, especially those which are locally owned and not part of some franchise or huge corporation. You should only use a rating that terrible if you feel that the place absolutely deserve it, and I know firsthand there are many that do, but Las Brisas in Blytheville, Arkansas is not one of those places. I obviously am not there to observe every interaction, and I’m sure there have been some unfortunate situations, but I’ve been there and seen enough to know those occurrences, if and when they do happen, are few and far between. I think reviews hold a far larger impact and are relyed upon much more than people think, certainly more than I have, so hopefully people can try and take them a bit more seriously and become a bit more fair with their choice of star rating. It may matter much more than you think and have a larger impact than you realize, so just try and be sure you’re leaving a review that the establishment TRULY deserves. So if anyone actually makes it this far in yet another of my “novella-like” comments, (I like to try and explain things in full ;-p), and you are trying to decide wether or not to dine here, make like Nike and JUST DO IT! You won’t...

I've been to the Blytheville area several times over the past couple of years for work. I've eaten at many of the local spots and this time I decided not to have barbecue, steak or a grilled Ceasar salad. I've driven by Las Brisas several times, and I've heard great things about it but never stopped in. On this visit, I decided to change that. I drove up and walked in and to my surprise, I had entered a very lively and colorful restaurant. Las Brisas has very charming decor, with pictures, colorful molds and depictions of traditional Mexican life back in the good ole' days.
One this visit, Las Brisas was just starting to fill up for the dinner rush, so my server sat me right away. He was a funny and great person who took his time and lead me through quite a vast menu. Boom, the still-hot nachos hit the table, and the house-made sauce was dipped into and I have to say it was very enjoyable. I asked for some of the hotter sauce which my server was more than happy to bring out to me. Yes, it was a little spicier but not overwhelming.
So now for my order..after listening to all the recommendations I decided on the Chicken Tortilla Soup. This soup is a dinner size potion, I mean, I was warned but did not heed the warning, this soup is huge!!! It was rich and full of juicy pieces of chicken and fish with vegetables, and topped with homemade tortillas, how I finished it, is beyond me. I then had one of the house favorites, the Camarones a la Mexicana, a delicious dish with tender, fresh pieces of shrimp. The rice and the lettuce and everything else on the plate served to make it a great meal. I had to roll myself out of the restaurant and suffered a serious food coma after, but hey I should have listened to my server...right?
Heres what you'll get if you stop into Las Brisas, great food at an affordable price, friendly servers and all the calories you can handle. I love the place. I'll be back. Please note, that this is a 'family' restaurant and they do not...
Read moreYou'd expect that it'd be great cause of how it looks on the outside but once we entered we had to wait for someone to seat us. There was a person who was checking everyone out and every other staff was already busy serving those already seated. They really should have had someone ready to seat the people entering. The chips and salsa... not the best I've had honestly, needed a little more flavor or like a kick. It was very generic and so were the chips. I ordered and mango shrimp tacos and it was awful. The rice was super bland and the veggies... the overly cajun seasoned broccoli and carrots.. what Mexican restaurant serves you broccoli and carrots? I guess this one. Cause every other Mexican restaurant I've been to does not.. it's usually peppers and onions which I'd prefer. They gave me a mango sauce and it was bleh, they really should have made a mango slaw instead. My husband got the Gustavo special I believe, he did not enjoy the broccoli and carrots that came with it.. it really could have been better. So before we left we used the bathrooms... there was only 2 stalls out of 4 available. They didn't even had like an out of order sign or anything they had the trash can in the toilet seats instead. The bathroom didn't have a sink so you had to wash your hands outside of the bathrooms...where everyone could see you wash yours hands it was weird and and there were bugs on the sink. WILL NEVER come back. My hometown has better Mexican than this. I was...
