Went to D'Best with a few friends after hearing terrific things about it, but was thoroughly disappointed.
Right when I walked in, I could tell I made a huge mistake. At this point, I was expecting nothing but somehow was able to be disappointed even more.
The restaurant was extremely hot (I was sweating right when I walked in), the employees were yelling at each other, and they were having trouble dealing with the orders. Despite the obvious signs to walk out, I stayed and placed my order for a 6 inch D'Pilgrim. After doing so, I walked over to the register and paid $9.89 for a 6 inch sub and a Snapple. I was expecting a pretty darn good sub.
After paying, I waited. And I waited. And I waited. People that ordered behind me were getting their food before me, but I was scared to ask the employees about my sub based on how mean they were being to each other. I couldn't believe how terrible they were treating each other. Eventually, I built up enough courage to ask, when my question was shrugged off and not answered. Another 10 minutes ticked by before my friend, who ordered right after me asked. The lady looked away and ignored him before he asked again. One of the employees eventually told the guy at the grill that we'd been waiting forever. They hadn't even started our order. Apparently, it "got lost".
So to recap. An extremely hot restaurant, incredibly rude staff, an expensive 6 inch sub (that I'd happy pay $9.89 for if I got it in a timely fashion and was good), having to ask multiple times for an update on my order... Oh yeah. And the fact that without us asking about our subs, they'd never have been made. For these reasons, I will NEVER go back to D'Best and strongly encourage you to find...
Read moreLove, love, love this place. What hooked me was their turkey subs. I dont get the pilgrim with all the Thanksgiving fixings just the pulled shredded turkey with normal sub toppings and it's so good that I basically advertise for them and tell everyone I run into talking about where to get lunch that they should try this place. Its tiny and easy to miss if you dont know about it but they have a lot of great food and really good deli sides too. My only complaint us a new recent issue. I know there has always been some stray pieces of dark meat mixed in with the shredded turkey subs but the last 2 that I got were more dark meat than white and some crazy stringy pieces that actually looked inedible. It was a shock to me because I have never had that issue in years of going there. Not sure if bc of covid it might have been new cook or harder to get white meat or what but it was unfortunate as I keep craving my favorite turkey sub and have been afraid to try again since my last 2 experiences. The first time it happened I figured every restaurant/food place has an off day or an off meal that might not be their best but the second time was worse than the first. They are still a great place and we still go for some deli sides and cheesesteaks for him but I have really missed my quality turkey sub...
Read moreMy company and I generally order food from here 3+ times a week and we usually get multiple orders and always order with patience and courtesy. What can I say their food is wonderful! But as far as customer service and honesty they deserve the two stars. The past few times we had ordered a young woman named Yasmine has been taking the orders. She has charged my card multiple times for things I didn't order then they REFUSED TO GIVE ME MY MONEY BACK! I even asked the delivery driver to call her manager/owner and she told me HE WOULDN'T DO ANYTHING! And gave me 6 dollars instead of the $40 they owed me in over charges! Now going to today, we placed a fairly large order, which I understand can be flustering when you work at a busy store, but I was treated rudely and with little care that we are current customers. We were blatantly lied to when asked if there soup was available. Meaning when Yasmine went to go check she did not put the phone on mute and we heard the OWNER TELL HER TO TELL US THAT THERE IS NOTHING LEFT BECAUSE HE DOESN'T WANT TO RUN OUT AND MAKE MORE...are you kidding me? We have had nothing but problems with them these past two weeks. I hope someone here reads about this experience and tries to resolve it. WE WILL NOT BE ORDERING...
