Worst Aldi employee I've encounter. Blonde lady, don't know if she is the manager or associate, but very rude and lack people or customer relation skill. Aldi please, hire better. I had brought a 4 pack of Campbell chicken noodle soup on clearance. When I went to pay I check my receipt and it did not ring up correctly. I paid already and told the cashier. She then called another Aldi associate to check the price and he when over where I got the soup and confirmed that it was on clearance. She then asked again "are you sure it's on clearance", he replies "YES". She then looked at me and then left her cash register with the line going all the way back to into the isles. She when over to check the price herself. So......not only did she not trust the customer, she didn't even trust another Aldi employee............Wow, Aldi with so great a talent pool in the U.S. please hire people who know what they are doing and know about customer service and working as a team. When you make a mistake, own it and apologize to the customer and make it right. She didn't even apologize even though it was Aldi's employee error, reluctantly she gave me a refund on the difference, like she was doing me a favor. Seriously, Aldi if you don't want to mark items down then DON"T. Don't try to advertise one price on the shelf and then try to charge more and make it look like it's the customers or another employee's fault. Also hire employees who can work as a team and trust each other. What a shame that this employee has this attitude, wasted my time, another associates' time, the people on line time, for a 2.00 difference, crazy. You know if I'm posting here that means there are as least more people that feel the same way but did not take the time to post. I used to be a super loyal...
Read moreAldi is great. The company that runs it has the right idea. Keep overhead costs down and then what is charged in food can stay lower. So you bag your own groceries...not at the cashier, but at a counter. Th cashiers rings up at record speed and puts in another cart. Then you leave your empty cart with them and go bag or box groceries. The carts are a quarter to use and you get that back when you turn in the cart when finished. No carts all over the parking lot. The brands may not be what you are familiar with, but are good. There are few other items, such as kitchen products, bed sheets etc. They get cheap...and when gone then that's it, but will be something different next time. I check out their flyers and get sale produce etc. And meat. I try different items and if I don't like, then I just don't get again. For instance, their brand of Nutella. I think it's ok..much Cheaper but my family tastes a difference, so I just won't get again. There are times when very busy. Either go very early or later in day or even early evening. But, sometimes you will miss certain sale items. They do not carry much in line of pet puppies and cleaning products and prices not that chap there anyway, so I get that at Walmart. Also...name brand cereal..they may have or not. Just have to check out. They do not carry all types of soda. It's a buy on sale, and what you like there that is cheaper type of store. But, worth looking at. Older folks go and no...no.one helps you bag or...
Read moreALDI takes some getting used to when you're accustomed to the full-service supermarkets that are popular in South Florida like Publix. It's a Germany company and they do things differently to keep the prices very, very low.
Most folks aren't used to cart deposits. Yes, you will need to insert a quarter into the lock to release the cart. You get it back when you return the cart. This saves ALDI the cost of an employee running around the parking lot to bring the carts back.
Most folks aren't used to bringing their own shopping bags. Yes, ALDI will sell you bags instead of the usual unlimited bags (at least here where the government doesn't require selling them). Oh, and you'll be bagging your own groceries instead of an employee doing it.
The selection is limited, generally only a single brand of products and that generally isn't a name brand. ALDI's generic brand is very good but people may prefer a name brand.
All of this and more to keep the payroll costs down. There generally aren't more than four or so employees in the store at any time. Low cost for them translates to low prices for you. Yes, do your full weekly shop here and be amazed at how little you're paying for your groceries compared to...
