Orient Kitchen* Who’s ready to plunge into a sea of delicious Chinese delights? Is all takeout really created equal? Years ago, we packed our bags and made a grand move across state lines, embarking on an epic quest for the Holy Grail of Chinese food. What did we uncover? A treasure trove of “meh!” Dine-in joints had their moments but rarely blew our socks off. We encountered bland bites, teeny portions that left our wallets lighter, or decent-sized dishes that tasted like a flavor nap. Then, one fateful day, our neighbor dropped a Chinese feast on us! I'm telling you, when the chicken wings are huge, you know you’ve struck gold! The portions were enormous, the spring rolls were flavor bombs, and the lo mein and spare ribs? Straight-up culinary bliss! The service was stellar, and the cozy kitchen felt like the heart of the neighborhood. But wait! One day, our stomachs were growling so loud we decided to waltz in for that fresh-off-the-wok magic, only to discover—gasp!—they were closed on Thursdays! What the what? I even bumped into a friend who was ready to order too. The hilarity of it all—our famished selves were left groaning in comic despair! LOL! From that day on, we made takeout our special occasion jam, with just a sprinkle of worry about consistency. Sometimes the chicken looked a bit too crispy for comfort, and those spare ribs? A smidge dry when we cracked open our feast. Guilty pleasures, am I right? Hunger waits for no one! Now, when I dial in, I make sure to request that golden chicken be “gold-plated” (figuratively, of course) and spare ribs drowning in sauce! I’ll be snapping pics of our mouthwatering orders to share when we pick up the dishes once again- repeat orders. Since these tasty adventures are rare gems, we’ll keep returning to ensure quality remains top-notch—imagine the horror of a party with a flop batch—yikes! Overall, this joint is still our #1 fave! So, we’ll be rolling in with special requests to guarantee our dining experience is nothing short of legendary when the occasion calls...
Read morePlease Read this! The customer service of this place was HORRIBLE!! While placing the order over the phone I spoke to a lady by the name of "Christina." She was not at all accommodating! Any and every question I asked her I received a very nasty answer. I honestly couldn't believe asking for extra bean sprouts in my fried rice would upset anyone! She told me " You're only getting a little bit of rice, how much bean sprouts do you expect to get?" I was very shocked at that, but my co worker and I decided to still go and pick up the food. When we arrived and walked through the door we were not greeted with a hello of any kind, instead we were greeted with a face that looked as if we SMELLED BAD. I decided to greet her with a warm hello and tell her that we are picking up an order. While there, my co worker had a couple of questions for her that was not pleasantly answered. After all that we still walked out of there with a smile on our faces. The very first thing my co worker said to me was "we will never eat from this place again!" I don't know about any of you, but I believe the consumption of food is the most important thing in one's life, it sustains us! WHY WOULD I PAY FOR, OR EAT FROM SOMEONE THAT DOESN'T HAVE ENOUGH DECENCY TO TREAT ME WITH RESPECT WHEN I'M THE ONE HELPING AND ASSISTING IN KEEPING THEIR BUSINESS AFLOAT?? THANK YOU FOR...
Read moreI just came back from a late lunch with my best friend. We decided to try another Chinese resturaunt in the area, instead of the one we usually go to, and it was definately a BIG mistake. I thought I was getting a good deal for the Szechwan Beef dinner combo, that comes with your choice of soup, a egg roll, and fried rice, for $10.95, not including tax. We picked up our food and the place was very well maintained and clean, which is the ONLY reason I'm giving this a 3 star and a 2 star. Anyhow, the place was clean, the customer service wasnt the best. The lady seemed like she was rushing us and didnt want to be bothered. The food was "very fresh" tasting. Not well seasoned, my meat was tough and chewy. My rice was undercooked and just awful. The wonton soup was just water with wontons in it. The egg roll was the only thing that was good enough to swallow. And not to mention the amount of food we got was like a kids meal. I feel like I've been ripped off. Dont waste your time going here unless you dont mind throwing your money away for...
