This place is wonderful!!
My sincere thanks to the team at this TooJays for providing a truly nice experience on Thanksgiving after a different TooJays had gotten it off to a terrible start. Especially thank you to Marie and Lucky.
I really want your team to know that you helped to make an incredibly difficult holiday a really nice one. It was my mother's first Thanksgiving without her husband of 45 years (and my stepfather had also been the one who always cooked us these amazing turkey dinners.)
You never know what people bring in the door of a restaurant. So, what sets a great restaurant apart is that they are nice to everyone, regardless of what problems they may be having. This is the team that greeted as at your restaurant - a cohesive, happy team!
When we arrived, after being completely disappointed by and deflated from the experience we'd had at another TooJays where we'd originally made our reservation, we were feeling down in the dumps.
We've gone to TooJays for over 30 years, but they'd closed the one we used to go to on Military Trail. We love your chain's food and have mostly had great experiences. So, we were willing to try yours before we gave up entirely.
We are SO glad that we did! You completely turned the day around. When I arrived and explained how we ended up there, your entire team was so nice and you even apologized for how poorly they treated us at the other TooJays, which wasn't even your fault!
Marie was exceptionally nice and made our experience better. She was so kind. She even came over to check on us and chat with us.
Our waiter, Lucky, had such a nice disposition and temperament. He just had a very nice way about him. He was courteous and provided great service.
The food was DELICIOUS! Our turkey meal was even better than we expected. Everything was fresh and cooked perfectly. Honestly, you rivaled some of the best turkey dinners we've ever had and I'm not exaggerating. It really was that good!
I'm already a big fan of your Key Lime Pie. We often buy whole ones to serve on special occasions, but the Pumpkin Spice Cake was also amazing! It was moist and the frosting was delicious.
Our wines were perfect, too. I had the rose and my mother had a white. I can't believe what an affordable price we paid for what was akin to a meal we'd have gotten in any five-star restaurant.
We now love you guys and you are now the TooJays we will be coming to. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for how happy we left. It might not seem like a big deal, but it was an important day and your kindness and niceness made a huge difference.
If it had not been for your team, we would have never set foot in a TooJays again after the experience we'd had earlier in the...
Read moreMy husband and I visited this Toojays 3013 Yamato Rd, Boca Raton, FL 33496 Sunday for lunch. My main complaint is about the service, but I also want to mention how small the portions of food were. I paid $12.59 for Toojays Trio which consisted of egg salad, tuna salad and regular chicken salad. I'm not lying and I'm not exaggerating and I didn't complain about our waitress before we got our food, but the portions were so small. 3 small fork bites of each one. The pictures and PAST EXPERIENCE with this order is usually take some home for dinner later. I was looking for another place to eat on our way out the door. I left hungry. I even ate the small cherry tomatoes and the cucumbers and the side pickle my husband got with his sandwich. I don't eat alot but 9 bites of food for $13 is ridiculous. To add to the disappointment in lack of food Our server was HORRIBLE! and she didn't care. She appeared almost instantly to take our drink order. 2 unsweetened ice teas with extra lemons and a glass of ice. She came back about 7 or 8 mins. later with our tea only, no lemons no ice. She took our order and again I asked for lemons and ice. She took the order at the next table and disappeared for a good 15 to 20 mins. When she finally appeared I had to call her over to our table as she darted past us back to hide in the kitchen. I again asked for lemons and ice. Another disappearance and another 15 mins or more before she re-appeared. She stopped by with the lemons and ice, said our food was on its way out. Disappeared. 10 mins. later our food arrived, after several tables around us sat after us, got their food and were paying. Another disappearance and another 20 mins. We asked for our check and our box. Again gone, spotted her over behind some wall talking to a male waiter there. Had to ask the seating lady if we could get our bill and a to go box. She went back to where our waitress was still chatting, said something to her as she grabbed the box, she then started talking to both of them, brought our box out I commented about our waitress back there talking instead of handling her tables, she rolled her eyes. Our waitress finally appeared with the check and a box 10 mins. later. I NEVER complain to the manager but by now we'd been there almost 1 1/2 hours and didn't have to wait to be seated. He told me he understood, offered to take something off our bill which I refused, I wasn't complaining for a freebie, but told him I just wanted him to know how awful she was. He told me that he'd had complaints from other tables about her as well. She obviously doesn't want a job, or this job is not for her and she really didn't care. Her name was Kay so don't sit at her table if you find yourself visiting...
Read moreThis was the first time that I’ve had on-going bad experience at TooJays. When we got there, I asked the hostess if you still have the ) $14.99 Choose 3 special and she said yes and the waitress will give us all the info when we order. It is also on your website. We got our water and waited and waited. I had to go back inside to request that the waitress take our order. And we waited and waited while we watched other tables get waited on and start to get their orders. She finally came over and asked us if we needed more time. I said no since I had already asked for her to help us. I ordered the Choose 3 Chicken Marsala and asked how much the up charge was to get the French Onion Soup. She left and came back and told us $1.00. My mother had ordered the Liver and Onions, medium rare, with matza ball soup, which she asked to be changed to French Onion Soup. We requested the soup to be served first. And we waited and waited. It was now close to 1.5 hours. I found the hostess again and asked about our order and showed her that 3 tables that came in after us were either already eating or packing their leftovers. And we waited and waited. I was told that she would bring out our soup herself. And we waited and waited. I finally asked for the manager. He said they had trouble with the soup but it was now coming out. They could have asked us if we wanted another soup or salad to order. It was good but I have to say I’ve never had mushrooms in onion soup before. When they brought the meal, we were told one would be comped. Like only one of us was waiting and waiting. My mother’s Liver and Onions came out well done instead of medium rare. They agreed to comp both. And they replaced her Liver and Onions. Then I ordered my dessert from the Choose 3 special. And I was given a bill for the dessert and told since I ordered it after the meal was comped, there would be a charge. I told her that it was part of the original meal. Then I was told that they no longer had the Choose 3 Special. This is after I saw it on the website and both the hostess and waitress acknowledged that they had it. The manager then comped the dessert as well. Since they comped everything I was satisfied with everything but the service. Since I’ve always had good service here, I will try again and hope for the service we’re accustomed to at TooJays.
Follow-up I want to thank Chastity for contacting me and listening. All had been resolved but there was still the service issue. She is...
