What do you do when you've just returned from a week long trip to Mexico, overnighted in El Paso and headed to San Antonio in 105° heat on I-10? If you're me you forget to eat and mistake your rumbling stomach for a flat tire. Then you remember you spent a lazy day watching Texas Eats and immediately think of ordering the Scorpion Pepper pizza barreling down the highway in another hot Texas day because why not? In thruth it was a good decision as I had wanted an excuse to go and try Inferno's for months and it did not disappoint. Sure it was hot outside but by the second slice the weather seemed mild by comparison. I enjoy a cheesy pizza that can't hold it's weight like a discount paper towel with a crispy crust a couple notches below the Nature Valley hardness scale. And the spice of the pizza was excellent and we'll balanced. The heat did not overpower the overall taste and complemented the ingredients. The juicy tomatoes prove they know how to bake a pie. If the pictures are any indication it looks and tastes irresistible. And the service was fantastic, everyone was very courteous, asking if I'd been helped. The dining area and restroom was very clean. Additionally they did have a nice selection of beer which I did not partake in because DWIs aren't a badge of honor. Maybe next time. It's a great place to stop with kids, friends and family. For $17 the size of the pizza, quality and taste it was money well spent. You can always order from a box store or grab a frozen disc from the grocery freezer. But for an awesome pizza I'd drive to Inferno's and back.

Finally had the chance to eat at Inferno's Wood Fired Pizza in Boerne TX. I'd like to say that the inside of the building is very cute and western themed, lots of TV where you can enjoy watching sports. Our server was very attentive though i was disappointed to over hear another server telling his table about the lunch special they offer since our server never mentioned it to us. We order their (Hot style, as listed on the menu) Spinach dip as an appetizer, we were surprised to see that it came out as a pizza when we were expecting a dip. Nonetheless the "dip" part was tasty and had a very pleasant and creamy spinach flavor. The crust was a bit too thin but gave it a nice crunch. For our pizza we order "The Big One" it came out pretty fast since it wasn't a packed restaurant. It looked promising, nice amount of toppings and we had gotten a side of their house made ranch dressing. Excited to dip into the ranch my slice of pizza sadly went limp, it was soggy and pretty greasy. Every time i tried to fold and dip my pizza toppings would just side off. Once i finally got it into my mouth i was pleasantly surprised that it actually tasted pretty good. Maybe it was the amount of toppings on this pizza that made the VERY thin dough soggy? But for it being one of their specialty pizzas it could have been better. They do have a somewhat full bar, a LOAD of beer taps though only about a 3rd of them were on. I'd love to give them another try though they are no where close to the wood fired pizza I've had at other pizza restaurants.

We came on a Sunday- beautiful day- sat outside in their enclosed patio so it was ok. We were blocked from the wind. There is another outdoor area just beyond the enclosed space that has 6 maybe 7 picnic tables - that area is completely outside and it is also enclosed with a 4’ fence, and it has a play scape in it which makes it perfect for outdoor family dining! Hubby liked the seasonal beer he got, I had a mimosa but it was mostly oj, so I wasn’t thrilled. The calamari was not good, to me. The breading, although light, heavily seasoned. I should say that my favorite fried calamari is served at the Lincoln Heights Paisano’s. Just for comparison. The pizza, which is why we came, and I stress, in my opinion, bland. We ordered the “Big One” without peppers because hubby can’t have them and that may have been the reason. Full disclosure. The crust was thin and tasted ok & all the ingredients were ok and Hubby thought it was ok but I luv pizza, and believe it is the sun of all its parts and for me, just ok, with all the hype from Elder East’s, just fell short. By comparison, my fav pizza is true Neapolitan pizza which, GW, I’ll have again this May! We won’t be back but it’s a top rated place so I’m sure there are many more who think this place is tops. There were several large parties and families enjoying the day and the food today and again full disclosure, there are two major football games on - so… there was that. Anywho… they have tone of pics on their media sites so I won’t add more. Best of Luck.

Update on 10/8/20 - Well, we just had a bum experience here. I would give this experience one 1 star, but since the first was 5 star, my current rating is 2.5. We arrived and there were “no seating” signs on the shaded tables next to the playground. We were disappointed, but sat on the at a blazing hot table on the patio instead. A waitress came by and I asked her why we couldn’t sit at the shaded tables and watch our kids play. She said that was the new rule and that it was permanent. She stopped by and tossed a drink menu and went back inside without speaking to us. After another 5 or 10 minutes of sitting in the blazing sun, without waters or drinks, we went in and asked if we could sit in the shaded area if we ordered at the bar and waited on ourselves. (The waitress clearly wasn’t interested in waiting on us anyway. 🙄) They said that was fine. So, we moved down to the lovely shade and figured out what everyone wanted. (At this point we still don’t have waters or anything and have been here around 20 minutes.) My husband went in to order and was told to go back out and someone would get our order at the table. Ok, so now we wait another 10-15 minutes and no one comes. He goes back in to try and order again. (Now a good 30 - 40 minutes with not even an ice water.) This time a lady, maybe the manager, comes back out with him and asks us to only eat on the patio. We try and explain to her that someone said it was okay as long as we ordered at the bar. She starts lecturing us about how if we are eating down here then others will want to do it too. So, now after we have been here for 45 minutes, without even an ice water, we are being loudly lectured by an employee. At that point we loaded up and went elsewhere. We will not be paying for 20 dollar pizzas and 10 dollar drinks from such rude staff members. I have no idea what changed so much from one month to the next, but the entire laidback, and fun vibe was gone. Maybe just a bad day, but we won’t be back. There are plenty of other great options where customers aren’t treated this way.

First review: Wow! The pizza is great and they offer gluten free. We sat outside on the turf and let the kids play on the playground. Very relaxing and fun. We...

Decided to try this place out after reading it was voted best pizza in town by the Boerne Star. But after my experience today I'm not sure how it even made top 3.

I called in a take-out order: 12 in pepperoni pizza, order of pizza rolls, and an order of fried calamari. Person on the phone told me my order would be ready in 25 minutes, sounds pretty standard.

I arrive 27 minutes later to pick up my order, but no one can be bothered to help me. One very helpful person immediately asked me if I was there for a take out order, upon my answering "yes" I was told "oh, the take out person will be back eventually" and they proceed to play on their phone right in front of a customer in need to help.

Once the person finally showed up to take my money I discovered that my food was stone cold. This is probably because the to-go orders are left out on the bar to await disappointing the unfortunate souls who will be taking them home.

So I take the order home, thinking we ordered enough food. But alas I wrong: even though the menu states an order of pizza "rolls" consists of 4 rolls it does in fact not. For your $8 dollars you get one glorified hot pocket that has been cut into sections. This may feed one person but it is not going to help more than that.

But it is not like people were tripping over themselves to eat the rest of the order: the calamari since it was cold was rather soggy and not a good fried crispy texture and the pizza while looking delicious and inviting was more akin to eating soggy cardboard. The pepperoni, the sauce, the cheese even somehow all lacked any flavor what-so-ever. This was the same for my order of pizza "rolls".

I wouldn't recommend this for a kids pizza party let alone for people who actually enjoy food...

I did not have high hopes for Inferno's Pizza because if the sheer mediocrityof the previous restaurant there, but my friends wanted to try it, so I went. When there, there were several things to note. First, no one there had their food, and second, it seemed bare; the walls were almost entirely blank. At this point I was already brewing up a bad review i my head, but once seated i was greeted by a host of pleasant details: 1.) When our server arrived, it was obvious this place was a place of hospitality. Our server treated us with respect and had a friendly approach; we were not treated as just another mundane order, but as a lifelong friend. 2.) As a connoisseur of the popular soft drink: Dr. Pepper, I can wholeheartedly say that I never thought I'd see the day that a Dr. Pepper topped the Dr. Pepper from Flagstop, but today I've been forced to reevaluate, because the Dr. Pepper from Infeno's Pizza was very close behind, although Flagstop remains the unopposed king. 3.) The group and I ended up ordering two of their specialty pizzas: the 'Boss Hog' (a pizza topped with various meats including pulled pork, ham, bacon and sausage), and the 'Pizza Blanca'(what was essentially a five cheese pizza). When they arrived, they were nothing special to look at, however both were exceedingly delicious and were gone within minutes of delivery. Overall Infernos was a good experience and me and my friends plan to return. However there was one complaint I had and that was that it took nearly thirty minutes to get our food, but this was not so bad in the face of things. Thanks for a great...
