Most people are cognizant of what an IHOP experience encompasses, and this is no exception. So, let's stick to the pertinent facts that separate this IHOP from others: 1.) Free wifi is available, however, there are no booths with outlets available for recharging while you eat. One booth is close enough to the waiting area that you could stretch a nine or ten foot cord from the outlet there. However, be warned that the outlet is directly behind a bolted down bench seat and there is limited room to fit a USB wall charger. I actually broke off the larger end of my micro USB cord in the charger while trying to plug it in. Such is life. 2.) The service was prompt at 8am on a Saturday morning, as was the arrival of my meal. A check was left on the table as soon as I finished eating, but it was stressed I could stay as long as needed to work and it wouldn't be an inconvenience. 3.) While there were a few blemishes (water spotted ceiling tiles, chips on table edges, i.e. normal wear for an active restaurant) and although the decor doesn't scream hip, the space is clean and light (the white painted wood and trim as well as the recessed and track lighting all help) and otherwise well maintained. A couple of reminders if you haven't wandered into an IHOP recently: 1.) While coffee, tea, and soda all have free refills, the hot chocolate does not. This may catch those used to Denny's off guard. 2.) 75% of the breakfast options come with pancakes as either the main entree or at least as a side. 3.) Each table comes with its own dedicated set of four syrup containers. Two of them have the helpful labels of 'Old Fashioned' and 'Strawberry' printed on the spouts. The other two possess no labels but are adorned with blue and yellow spouts, perhaps Blueberry and Honey? I am not sure. Overall, a fairly standard and satisfying IHOP experience. As with any restaurant, when remodel comes around, I suggest dedicated outlets for every booth at least. In the meantime, I can only suggest two or three replacement ceiling tiles.

I want to say I wish I could give my waitress 5 stars.she was constantly going to tables checking on quality and drinks for customers. Which was better than most of the hostesses that were gathering to giggle and chat. We waited 20 minutes for a table for 2 people. Once seated we ordered and waited 50 minutes for our food before our waitress apologized because our order was "booted from the system" and that our order would be out in 20 minutes and she took drinks off our tab. The omelette was cooked to perfection whereas the chicken and waffles was honestly crunchy and dry. While we waited for our food (70 minutes) we heard 3 door dash orders come and go, we won't be coming in again but will consider door dash so we get our food in a decent time. My partner said we could've gone home, burnt our food three times and the food here still wouldn't be ready... There were 20 empty tables in the restaurant at the time, again we treated our waitress with respect and even tipped her well. Another table nearby struggled with service as they asked for their drinks 3 times from different hostesses but they apparently did not bring it to them. If the restaurant is short staffed, don't bother opening. You can't expect one person to do the job of three on minimum wage.

I have never had quite the "service" I've experienced tonight. My husband and I showed up around 10pm. Not busy. Our waiter asked if we were ready to order. I wasn't and I let him know i needed a few minutes but my husband put his order in and the waiter literally asked what he could get me. It hadn't even been a minute. So I finally order and I asked for no onion or tomato on my sandwich and a side of New York cheesecake pancakes. He comes back to the table later and says "Your food is under the lamp. You still don't want tomato or onion right? Does that mean you don't want whipped cream on your pancakes?" Later I asked for a drink refill and he forgot about it and checked someone out at the register then noticed my empty glass at the edge of the table and finally brought my drink. My husbands sandwich didn't have mayonnaise on it and he asked it be fixed. Instead of taking the plate back for the cook to put it on the waiter brought a cup completely full of mayonnaise for my husband to put on himself. The sandwiches were good. The pancakes were partially burnt. The fries were good as well. I've also included a photo of the handicapped bathroom. Which I would have preferred to use since I'm very pregnant.

I've never left a restaurant in tears because of the waitstaff before, but I suppose there's a first time for everything. Went in to have a decent sized, (quiet) dinner while browsing on my laptop as I'm currently living on the road and need all the nutrients and wifi I can get. I was seated next to the kitchen door where there's an outlet and I didn't get a moment's peace through the entire experience. Something eventful happened in the store which had the teenage staff worked up, so I can give credit for the busy day, but I was stunned by their behavior and this general experience.

Throughout the time there, I was given a single small glass of "iced" tea with no ice, which I finished right away but never was offered a refill. It took about 1.5 hours to receive my order, which was incomplete because I could hear the cook yelling from the back that he didn't want to make my pancakes, and even stormed out front with the order acting quite angry, yelling at one of the waitresses right in front of my table. When they came out, they were all upside down, which was more strange than anything. A few minutes later the cook walked by and farted next to my table, which made it impossible to want to stay.

My waitress was also obnoxious and I'm not sure I ever saw her doing something legitimately productive while I was there. She was loud and got in my face, referred to me as "love" the entire time, didn't listen to what I was trying to ask her for and if it weren't for the other two waitresses on staff than I wouldn't have gotten anything because she never actually came and got my order. At one point when they were having their loud group gossip-party next to my table, I was completely ignored and couldn't get a single word in to ask for salt for my eggs, so I got up and stole one from another table right in front of them. Obnoxious waitress, after seeing I got my food, came and asked how it was. I said point blank that I haven't gotten to try it yet and she smiled real big and responded with "great glad to hear you like it!"

The cherry on top was when I became so frustrated that I couldn't finish my meal. I asked for some boxes, couldn't fit everything on the small table and accidentally knocked the pancakes onto the floor before I was able to eat much. My waitress showed up while I was trying to salvage it and proceeded to throw everything away without asking if I'd like to buy more to replace them. I left hungry, angry, and wishing that I had no memory of this experience. I had to leave out over half of the details for simple lack of time and ability to record it all. Simply put, I'm...

We visited the IHOP on Federal Way on Sunday and had an employee steal money from us. A table with an almost 80 year old woman, 2 toddlers, and two busy and tired parents. Our order came out to $60.37, I had $50 in cash so I handed our server two $20’s and two 5’s. I told her to put the $50 towards our bill and to put the remaining $10.37 on my card. When she came back I was in the middle of a conversation with my grandma so the server approached my husband, she said she split the bill into two, used the $50 on one and charged $15.89 to my card. I overheard this but didn’t want to cut of my grandma so my husband just said okay and that was it. We get in the car and we’re driving home and I asked what she said and I told him the math didn’t add up. I ended up driving back, the manager printed off my receipts and I explained the situation. She then got my server and stayed with us while I talked to the server about the situation. She was visibly flustered and said she was so sorry and quickly took the $6.50 out of her serving bag and handed it to me. I was so shocked in the moment and just left. As someone who had served for many years and had time to look over my receipts, I realized what had happened. She split the bill into two, one being $44.48 and the other being $15.89, instead of inputting $50 into the “cash tendered” she typed in “$44.48” and pocketed the $6.50. I called back and talked to the manager who was present when I got my money back, she agreed that is what happened and also said she suspected that was what happened when I came back in for my money. I expressed how upset I was and she said she would handle it. I’m not sure, I feel like I expected to be told how exactly she would handle an employee stealing from a customer but I didn’t get anything. I got no closure and I’m still extremely upset and disappointed in the employee who stole from a family and the manager who met me with a “I will handle it” and nothing more. My family very rarely eats out due to the high cost of living these days and we only make sure to do so when we know we have the money to eat our AND leave a generous tip(which we did). So to be pretty easy going customers who left a generous tip and to be taken advantage of like that, really upsets me. If you eat here, I recommend you double check your bill and receipt and take a picture with the tip amount you left on there.

Edit to add: On the 12th, I called the number provided by the owner in response to my review and have yet to hear back...

I usually go into this location later in the evening hours. Today there was almost no one in the restraunt. There was plenty of staff on the floor.

Our waitress was short with us.

She lacked knowledge of the menu when we were ordering and assumed we were ordering breakfast until we corrected her.

We ordered coffee and received 1 glass of water not two. Last time I checked you don't see water on the menu.

She almost only put in an order for one dinner meal even though there were two people sitting at the table.

I ordered the appetizer platter that I have enjoyed in the past while I was waiting for my dinner.

Our salads came first.

It looked like a child had tossed a wad of wilted lettuce and dead tomato slice... Yes that's right 1 slice of tomato into a bowl that was presoaked in ranch... No we did not get to put salad dressing on our salad...every bit of what was tossed into the bowl was covered in salad dressing...

The waitress all but tossed the bowls at us when she put them on the table.

The appetizer when it arrived was microwaved too long onion rings.. 3... 4 mozzarella sticks... and 4 rock hard chicken strips... obviously tossed into a salad bowl along with 1 cup of red sauce meant for the mozzarella sticks... We had to ask for ranch... there should be 3 different sauces and the food should be made fresh... not microwaved to rock hard status.

We ordered chicken fried steak mashed potatoes and steamed broccoli. Everything was microwaved and tasted like a salt shaker.

The waitress did not offer one time to refill the 1 glass of water brought to the table and dropped the check on the table with a less than professional attitude.

The waitress for our table was obviously the person in charge on the floor. She was rotten. Her attitude needs some serious adjustment and she most certainly does not belong in management.

The saddest part is there was zero foot traffic in a place where they should be rocking it out all hours of the day and night.

It's obvious this place needs an overhaul at the management level.

Poor management equals unhappy staff that will empty your building and business.

IHOP! You are a national chain! This one sucks...
