First...and last...visit here. We walked into the restaurant (with a loud chime announcing us) and the waiter had his back to us while he was calculating something. Instead of looking up and saying, "Hello, I'll be right with you!", it was about half a minute later. The decor was nice and the room temperature. Not more than four other booths occupied, and this was about 3:35pm. The waiter came with chips, salsa, and bean dip and asked for our drink order. I ordered a #30, 2 shredded chicken enchiladas and I asked for the green sauce instead of red, and a side of sour cream and guacamole. My husband ordered #23, 1 beef burrito and 1 shredded chicken enchilada. The orders came and my husband ended up with 2 chicken enchiladas, and my order came with red sauce and not green! The waiter did not come back for quite a while, so we started eating anyway. Then, half way through, he appeared and asked how everything was. I told him about my husbands order not being right, and he did offer to bring him a beef burrito, but by then, it would have been too much food! The food was average; nothing to write home about, and the service a little slow. We got our bill and I recalculated it to us each having the same order, and when the waiter came to pick up the bill, I told him that I recalculated it to reflect what we actually had, and he said, "No, my husband had the burrito only it was chicken and not beef." We said, "Well, our dinners looked the same." No offer to change the bill and charged us the $3.00 difference for a slightly larger size tortilla! That was the only difference! In fact, we (my husband and I) thought they were the same size! The side of a small scoop of sour cream was $ .50, and the smaller scoop of guacamole was $1.50! We were hoping this would be a new place for us to go to while in the area, but afraid not. When they get their communication lines open between waiter and cook, it might be...
Read moreMy wife (now ex-wife) and I (along with our infant daughter) were literally the first customers through the door when this FG location opened in 2003. Now it's 2021, the daughter is about to head off to college, and FG is still serving up generous helpings of yummy Tex-Mex favorites. We've been here dozens of times through the years and it's a family favorite. As long as this place is open, we'll keep on coming back! Tonight was an off night, though. Service was a bit slow, but we'll assume it was due to the all too common malady called "short staffed", which is not uncommon these days. My son's chicken enchiladas seemed a bit bland, but my flautas were wonderful. My ex's meal of enchiladas suizas was prepared exactly to her custom specifications, and she left satisfied. I'm giving them the full 5 stars anyway, not solely on tonight's experience, but for what they've done through the years to keep us coming back, and for what we hope are many more years in...
Read moreA few years ago I took daughter there for dinner. The food and service was great! I was having a minor problem that the server became aware of (unrelated to the restaurant and long story) and the owner took it upon themself to fix it. Like above and beyond service. They won me over for sure. I don't go as often as I like, because it's not near me, but every time I go there I'm super impressed (food is great, but the people are stellar). The last time I went there, I arrived ten minutes before they closed. I didn't realized that until my daughter said something about it as we were being seated. I told the server that we didn't want to be a rude customer by coming in at closing time. She insisted that we weren't imposing. Another man would check on us occasional as well and insisted that we don't rush eating to accommodate for them. These might sound like little things, but it was a big deal to me.
Six star rating! And...
