Bell Greek Midlothian — Restaurant in Bon Air

This place falsely advertised "traditional", Greek cuisine. I was absolutely disgusted by the so-called moussaka and bland tasting green beans...I discovered that this business managed to expand. I do not know how when the food is so bad.

This location microwaved the food when I visited my one and only time. I had a terrible headache from the salt/sodium in the food that appears to have come from some place like a wholesale club. The food was so horrible that I could not even eat it and I vowed to never return. I ate some of the bread, but could not stand the taste of the other food.

I could not leave a review over a year ago because I could not find the place until today, 04Mar19, when I discovered there was more than one location.😖 What was worse was that someone recommended this place. 😑

The moussaka at the other location had the same tomatoey smell as the first time I smelled it, which was disgusting and the green beans were bland. The pita bread was clearly store bought, not homemade.

The moussaka should be a thick cream sauce not overflowing with tomato sauce and melted cheese. I was not impressed at all. If you are looking for traditional Greek cuisine, keep looking because this is not it. The pic with the neatly cut moussaka is what moussaka SHOULD look like.

The response to my review is ridiculous. A pic is worth a thousand words and I have only posted a review about each location. This food is NOT authentic Greek cuisine. Do yourself a favor and avoid Bell...

My husband and I had heard great things about your restaurant so we decided to try it tonight. The waitress was good in explaining the menu on things we might want to try. We decided on the baked Spaghetti with meat sauce and asked her to add a little bit of feta cheese to it. Instead we got Baked spaghetti with meat balls which I cannot eat. My husband did not want to complain so we ate around the meat balls. I will say your spaghetti is good and we have eaten at your other restaurant in Chester Va. The other problem was we added the Greek salad. She asked if we wanted it before the meal and we both said yes. The spaghetti came and still no salad. So when we finally told her she said she was sorry and then went to get it. The biggest problem is when we got our bill we were charged for 3.95 for 2 meatballs. I asked her about it and she said it was because we wanted meat sauce. I’am confused because the menu clearly states baked spaghetti with meat sauce and you have on there Spaghetti with meatballs I think she should have charged for the little feta that was added on the spaghetti not meatballs. Deelish lunch with one of my besties! We were there 2 hours catching up! Nice flow of customers ...1st folks there at 11:30 am. Full house from 12:30 to 1:30..but nobody waiting. Perfect balance..I don't like to take away tables from customers or tips from wait folks... our waitress tall redhead, perfect balance of congeniality, patience, efficiency for our entire visit..never rushed us..Our food..fabulous as always! My friend discovered the avigelelomo..(sp) Greek chicken lemon orzo soup..a go to for my family when not feeling well. She took home baked Italian spaghetti for dinner..plenty for her hub and self..the best baked spaghetti ever..the aroma alone is absolutely heavenly! I had the moussaka...love everything about it..why should I try to make it when Bell Greek's is a generous serving, out of this world and reasonably priced..I took half home for my hubby's dinner including the yummiest Greek style green beans which my husband polished off..and he's not even a a green bean fan..Finally I had the chocolate dipped macaroon...would have been better room temperature but the chocolate alone scrumptious at any temperature!
