Main Street Diner — Restaurant in Boonville

Let me start by saying the food was delicious. However, the service was not at all good. Yesterday, on Easter (4/21/25) we decided to have lunch at this establishment. Our waitress (wearing glasses) sat us at a booth and we are larger people. As my mom was sitting down she scooted the both back to allow us to sit down at the booth. Our waitress then proceeded to go on and on about how that's not going to give room to sit other people at the both behind us. (No one was sitting there and the rest of the restaurant was empty.) She was really pushing some boundaries and heavily implying some mean things. We felt very disrespected. When it came time to pay at the register, there was a sign that said there is a minimum 18% tip on all tickets if we sit down to eat. I'm all for giving a tip and everyone earning a living wage, but not when the waitress goes out of her way to disrespect us. We've been coming here for years, going out of our way to eat here on our trips down I70. Over the past year, things have really gone downhill with the service, which is a real shame. Now, we've decided that we will not come back to this...

I went to dinner there with my mom and dad. I ordered a steak mashed potatoes with gravy and a salad. When I received my steak the steak was in properly cooked. It was too spicy of a seasoning that they used. I sent the steak back with the server, and after sending the state back, I was then asked to pay for food that I did not even eat they refused to re-cook the food, and or offer some thing else to eat. Instead, the police were called and I was escorted away from the restaurant along with my 80 year old parents , so my experience at this restaurant was very horrible and my parents used to eat there up until this happened would eat there all the time in fact, my parents know the owners and the owners know my parents, but now my parents will never be there again, nor will I so be warned if you go there and you order food and you don’t like how the food taste you will probably get the police...

I’m not sure what the people who rated this anything more than a couple of stars ordered, but we stopped in today for the first time to eat brunch and were very disappointed. We ordered the triple decker club, the meat was dry, the tomatoes were soggy, to the point my friend didn’t even eat the club. When she told the waitress, all the waitress said was, “You should’ve ordered the BLT.”

We also ordered the catfish fillets, which weren’t fully cooked, and their mashed potatoes were the worst I’ve ever had in my life. The “white gravy” should’ve been called albino gravy because there wasn’t a speck or seasoning in it and it tasted like it came from a can.

The only reason I’m giving two stars instead of one was because the French fries were good and the Philly Cheesesteak was mediocre at best. The meat isn’t shaved, it’s very clumpy. We will not...
