This gem of a hotel is a beautiful little OASIS in Boonville! The hotel and restaurant are charming, they have done an amazing job of preserving the history. The staff was superb, they went out of their way to make sure we were taken care of - in both the hotel and the restaurant. Their prices are superb - in both the hotel and the restaurant. The food was fabulous! We had a hard time selecting what we wanted because everything sounded good. Good variety of food to pick from, and some unique selections. If we could give them 10 stars out of 5, we would. You must go here, you won’t regret it. We’re already making plans to come back, and we’re from Florida.

I had high hopes for a boutique style historic hotel. But it seemed they had scrimped on the grab and go breakfast, banana, granola bar, no coffee in room. Room ok, small TV about 10 feet up on the wall. 1 very small bar of soap provided , chose the more expensive room with a view of the park. Nothing to do within walking distance. I read a review asking if it was haunted. Well I think so, I had the unexpected sensation of someone touching my arm , light two fingers as if to see if I was real. Just one touch. The pandemic effects on businesses was so sad to see.

'The Fred' wasn't busy, so we decided to eat in the restaurant versus The Brick. We sat by the Christmas tree and had a very nice quiet dinner. The decor gives an older vibe closer to the period. I got the Goat Cheese Lasagna, which appeared to be different. It was very good and the sauce had great flavor. Hubbie got the sirloin with veggies. It was cooked medium versus medium rare, but he enjoyed it, and there were no leftovers. Glad we were able to experience the restaurant.

We dined here for our anniversary dinner. The food was mostly amazing. We got the gorgonzola creme brulee. It was sooo good. Creamy, great flavor but surpringly ice cold in the middle, which wasn't my favorite .Stuffed portobello was also pretty good. Steaks were great, cooked perfect MR. Service was not so great. She disappeared for long periods of time, no drink refills the entire time we were there, we ordered 2 side salads with our meal but never got them, brought us 4 little bread rounds with the creme brulee which was not nearly enough for the amount of dip or the price. Overall, I would probably give it another chance because the food was pretty good but Barred Owl in Columbia's food is just as good with impeccable service and without the drive, so I would probably opt to go there instead. As someone who worked in the service industry a long time, I am probably way more forgiving than your average customer, so I would put servers through better training so you don't end up...

Beware of bats if you sit outside - seriously! We sat outside under the ceiling fan on a warm June evening. The food and service were very good. Near the end of the meal, we noticed a flurry of small sawdust-like particles falling out of a hole in the ceiling near the fan. A few minutes later, a bat flew out of the hole and landed on the ground near my wife. It seemed stunned then it crawled to a brick wall and strarted climbing. Reminded me of scenes from "Dracula". Ugh. Although both of us are nature lovers, we left the table VERY QUICKLY. Luckily, I was able to grab my beer and plate and finish my dinner on the run. I told management about the bat and they seemed to know about it. They kind of laughed it off, although the waitress was mildly apologetic. So unless you're a chiropterologist, beware of bats swooping toward your salad when dining outside at the...

I really have enjoyed the grilled cheese sandwich meal . Served warm and with perfect seasoning. Fries no need for condiments. The service is warm friendly, inviting. Ethnicity not a problem, mingling of several cultures normal. The hotel has went to great lengths to ensure the antiquated culture of its time built. Rustic architecture original wooden floors and furniture upgraded. A history available from staff, or a postcard at front desk area. The restaurant no need for RSVP. The brick room has been upgraded with a new bar and individual table and chairs. A live music performance, tips will play nearly all requests, tips accepted. Overall a well groomed staff to orchestrate rapid wants of the guests requests for drinks and food. A outdoor dining area available if you want a more intimate...
