This was one of the worst experience that I have ever had. My 4 year old son and I went to this diner. As soon as we walked in we were promptly taken to our seats. Well, on our way to our seats the hostess almost fell on the floor and then my son took a dive and fell flat on his face. The floor was wet with some kind of substance that was not properly mopped up. The hostess did not even offer an apology. She just stated that they need to put a sign down. However, the hostess did offer to reseat us to a different section of the resturant but I told her that it was ok because where she seated us was not wet but then the family that we were seated next to said to be careful that there's glass all over the floor and when I looked down they were absolutely right. While sitting down I noticed that the floors was dirty all over the resturant and the ceiling had water stains as well. Not just a little water stain, but HUGE water stains all over. All of a sudden I just felt like this place was not clean at all. It looks good from the outside but very outdated on the inside. Then I looked at my watch and realized that my son and I have been at this diner for a little over 30 minutes and our server hasn't even come by yet. But wait? there are only two other families who were here before us and one other gentlemen seated by the counter. What's going on? This is unexceptable! Then all of a sudden I started to ask myself, is it because where Black? Now I don't want to say that was truly the case but in the end that's how I felt. I gave it another 5 minutes and then I just left and went to Chickies & Pete's (that was recommended by a local). The customer service their was amazing. I just wish they had healthier options...

After a big day at the Great Adventure amusement park, my family and a friend found Wisdom with a quick Google search. We decided to try it out and were greeted warmly, and given a comfortable booth for the five of us.

We got the spanakopita as an appetizer, and they were delicious. They were very accommodating changing a few food decisions around on the fly like swapping salad choices and even made chicken breast cutlets instead of the normal breaded sort for my dad. The chicken orzo soup was good, though the table wasn't a fan of the split pea soup. No complaints with the side salads but nothing particularly of note either.

The entrées were all fantastic, however, and the specials that included soup, salad, and a dessert were appropriate for their priced. Around the table we ordered Yum Yum Chicken, which was where the flattened chicken breast swap was made, chicken parmigiana, a chicken parm sandwich, fettuccine alfredo, and a chicken breast gyro. I had the chicken parmigiana with angel hair pasta, and the meat was perfectly tender while the pasta was not overly cooked (a common problem in many restaurants).

The bathrooms were very clean and fully stocked. The diner decor was both sleek and classy. The walls and floors were covered in neutral gray tones. A young man named Tosh was our waiter, and he was helpful and charming.

Good portion sizes (two of us took boxes home), obviously fresh ingredients, and not unreasonable prices made for an all around enjoyable...

Stopped here for breakfast on our road trip today. They have great size portions, and know how to make a good egg. My husband got over easy and I got the Mexican omelette, no complaints there; however on the menu they clearly say that breakfast options come with home fries, and we were both served bland, weirdly cooked hash browns. They forgot both of our toasts and when they did bring it out it was on the same plate? We ordered different from each other on types so that was really weird to us. At first I thought they just forgot mine a second time and then realized they stacked the toast on top of each other. What if we had an allergy? Half of my husbands toast wasn’t even toasted, straight up just a slice of bread. He said his bacon was not crispy, my daughter only ate 1 bite of her pancake, said it tasted weird. The place was very clean and nice looking but the bathrooms are super tiny, they really should expand them or take out the second stall, my daughter and I got stuck in the bathroom because someone was in the sink/ door area (there’s legit no space) there is also no changing table so I had to change my baby in the car and then walk the dirty diaper back inside to throw it away. My husband said in the men’s room; in order to use the stall you’d have to rub up against a guys butt while walking by if the urinal was in use. I’m honestly shocked this place has such a high ranking, that’s why we chose it. I’m just passing through, but if I lived here I would...

After visiting Wisdom’s more than ten times now, I’ve finally realized why I enjoy it so much. Of course, the food is consistently good that’s a given. But what truly makes this place special is the feeling it gives me. It reminds me of home. Growing up, we’d go to the Wayside Diner in California, where you always saw people you knew. There were the regulars the old men getting their daily breakfast, the families you grew up with, and the friendly waitresses who remembered everyone’s names and stories. Wisdom’s has that same hometown vibe. It’s the kind of place where people walk in and greet others at tables, ask how your parents are doing, or who just had a baby. That sense of familiarity, of community, is something rare and deeply comforting. It’s more than a restaurant—it’s a little piece of home that is often so hard to find being a military family.

The wisdom diner is a pretty great diner. So I have a rule about diners in NJ they all seem to now make chicken cordon bleu, so that’s my goto when out. If it’s a Greek diner then I will then get the gyro. They had cordon bleu so that’s what I ordered. This was a well made one, they didn’t give you too much like some places. Sauce was well done and there was a correct amount of cheese chicken and ham. Salty but that’s ok for this type of restaurant. I came back and had their gyro another time. Their gyro was very fresh sauce was the right amount I’ve been to other places where they just seem to go through the motions of a gyro but don’t have any real love behind it, but not here. I recommend this place, especially if you’re on the turnpike and you want food, don’t goto loves truck stop, drive a little bit from there and stop off here instead.
