El Mariachi Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Bossier City

I discovered El Mariachi through friends. I already enjoy Mexican food anyway so my first thought when we arrived was that it was probably going to be just OK. Man, was I in for a surprise. El Mariachi is a privately owned restaurant. It is owned by Naturalized Mexican Citizens who KNOW how Mexican food should taste. All of their employees are of Mexican Heritage with Spanish being their first language. That are not a "chain Mexican restaurant" which all of us are used to. The food is excellent and plentiful. No matter what I order I always need a take home carton. The menu is wide ranging of all classic Mexican dishes. They also have great choices for the kids. Listen, take a chance and go there. You will not be disappointed. Now whenever I want Mexican fare I just go to El Mariachi. Price, atmosphere, superb food and personal service...

The food used to be really good here and it was one of our favorite Mexican restaurants in the area but as of late it’s been very disappointing. The food just doesn’t taste that great and there’s no other way to put it. The salsa is very good, the yellow queso there’s nothing more then the queso you buy in the half gallon can at Sam’s, Very disappointing. On our last visit We got our food to go which was 2 Entrées and a large queso and believe it or not chips are NOT included with the nearly $7 worth of queso! Eaten here many times with Savannah and her huge extended family (often 16+). We get the best service when we reserve a table and ask for Monica, esp on busy Sundays. She is absolutely top notch awesome, knows what we all like, has green salsa and often drinks ready too! The food is usually pretty darn good to boot with tender steak and great chicken with reasonable prices. Chips are made crispy fresh and salsa is on point most of the time.
