Southern Maid Donuts — Restaurant in Bossier City

Went in yesterday to try some of their donuts for the first time; the lady working register seemed to be kinda snarky with questions, time we took aswell as with the lady in the drive through, not as much variety as donut shops back home so I was kinda questionable at first but my boyfriend and I still picked out a 6 pack of mix and match donuts and I was impressed with all we chose except for the powdered donut it kinda tasted like old coating ? Could just be me tho. They had a lot of cold drinks to chose from in their coolers. We also decided to get 2 glazed donuts and they were made fresh; this was the best fresh donut I have ever had! Props to the baker that evening. They are also hiring so go apply now! I see a lot of good things in this business getting larger for them but they definitely need more staff and customers! I stop by often and get a dozen for my office. The donuts used to be amazing but the staff was not. Here lately (past 3 or 4 times I’ve gone) the staff has been very nice but the donuts are constantly tasting old. I see reviews of hot gooey donuts but I have never had one from here. I keep going back hoping it will be different and get disappointed every time.

EDIT: since I can’t reply, first off, I never said your establishment was a disappointment. I said I have been getting disappointed. Second, as I said in the review… here lately the staff has been very nice. When someone is rushing to get their coworkers a treat for breakfast I don’t always have time to get names and ask questions. Third, I never knew I was supposed to ASK for hot donuts….. Their donuts are absolutely delicious. I love their glazed doughnut when it’s room temp. The fresh one is just too buttery, light, airy for me.

I’ve had probably 20 fine experiences here but today their 2.69 cup of coffee scorched my leg in the drive through. The lady at the window was kind and grabbed me a napkin with cool water on it. It seemed like she had done that before and she offered me a new lid. I tried to place it on the cup, and noticed that the top rim of the cup was folded in quite a bit.

This seems like a real hazard. The inside of the building doesn’t look like they are a business that upgrades things often..I feel like they could invest in sturdier coffee cups, and profits would...
