Food Critic of 6 years here. I stopped by this quaint café for lunch and ordered my daughter a kids grilled cheese and myself a 6 oz. steak. My sides were baked potato, a dinner roll, and green beans. The staff was kind and quick to serve. My steak, which I ordered medium rare, was cooked to the like for the most part but the outer edges cooked a fair bit more. The potato was offered with butter, faux bacon bits, and sour cream, I refused the sour cream as it does not suit my palate. Over all the entire meal was bland, unseasoned, and tasteless. Even the dinner roll was unremarkable in any way, soggy, and not even browned. My daughters grill cheese was just as expected although I was a little surprised at the lack of fries, for 4.99 I suppose it was passable, she seemed to enjoy her meal. As you can imagine kids meals aren't exactly fine cuisine.

Overall the atmosphere was homely and enjoyable enough.

2 stars as the food would be considerably better if it were seasoned even with salt and pepper, but the experience was fair enough.

I do not think I would...

UPDATE AS OF FRIDAY MARCH 21 Still nothing bad to say about this long-time Bossier City staple. Very friendly staff that greets you right as you walk into the Cafe. If y'all haven't tried that chicken salad sandwich, you don't know what you're missing! It's very delicious. Oh, and get you an order of those tasty cajun fries to go with it

Good normal diner! Solid food, good decor, awesome staff. Clean tasting water!!!! Really liked that I could see into the kitchen. Good prices for the service. Good coffee. Honestly it's been a struggle to find a good diner and this beats out the competition. All the other diners are either over priced, dirty or have bad food. This places rocks! Really love the staff.

I personally think they need to upgrade a few little things and have a polish up. I also suggest looking into like an express conventional toaster oven like they have at dunkin or Starbucks for heating up things like pastries and waffles. Microwaves make food taste strange and bread harden. Also just kind of wish they had more sweetener and creamer optiona for coffee, but it tasted great black-so could i really ask...

We tried this place out last night and were pleasantly suprised. We both skipped the special, which was A BIG Chicken Fried Steak Dinner. Just way too much for either one of us so, we ordered the breakfast chicken fried steak instead with brown gravy, eggs and potatos. I had home fries and Kathy had hash browns. Even this smaller version was more than enough to eat. Other reviews have said the food was bland but, in MY opinion, it just simple, basic home cooked seasoning without the over powering fire and spice that you find in many places today. If you want the extra fire and spice, ask for it, I bet they can fix you up. We could taste the actual food and Everything was cooked just right. The staff was real friendly and welcoming. Plenty to eat, great service and food.

This is a small Cafe. Decorated very cute in everything Red, White & Blue. The Staff were so very friendly. We were traveling and stopped. We got there a couple of minutes before they closed. They let us in to eat. We ate while they were cleaning to close. We started off with Fried Pickle Spears. They were so good and juicy. I had the Burger with Tots. The Tots were crispy, crunchy and not soggy. The burger was perfect. Great flavor, juicy. Plenty of toppings. Husband had the daily special, Chicken Alfredo, Broccoli with Cheese, Garlic Bread and Chocolate Cake. The food was delicious. They never rushed us to eat. The Server came over and joked around with us. We will definitely stop by next time we travel through.

Breakfast - July 31, 2023. Maybe the finest example of a traditional Southern style kitchen you can find anywhere across this great country of ours. Working among a red-stool cafe appointed with patriotic accoutrements and witty signage ("if you don't like my cooking, there are always MREs"), the ladies running the counter and serving are, to a one, attentive and sweet - even though I was toting four kids with me at a busy time of day. Food was fresh and top notch. Prices were more than fair and made feeding a family of six affordable. If you're looking for an authentic, homemade, southern breakfast or lunch, don't skip Café USA. ** (SPECIAL THANKS TO CATHY)
