It's not a real welcoming place. When you walk in, it's chaotic, not what you would expect from asian restaurant.the last time I came, it reminded me of a cafeteria, so i figured i would give it another shot. Definately have not changed that aspect. The waiter was trying his hardest with what he had, i did not get his name but he was a young guy with green hair.to start the meal we ordered our drinks and he notified us that they were out of glasses would a Styrofoam cup be ok, it was because i just ordered a water ,a Sapporo, and a hot sake. Well, the water came out in a styrofoam cup. The beer came out in a can that was barely chilled. Im not a big beer in a can drinker, but im game for anything. By the way, i think we were the only table without glasses. needless to say, the sake was good as expected. The food was good. We ordered fried dumplings and tempura shrimp to start and fallowed it with a la roll, fried cali roll, fried rice, sashimi, and salmon roe sushi The only down fall was they did not have on the menu a few items my daughter likes to eat and she was over this place from the start, kind regret not going to china flag and eating frog legs 🙂

Food taste: 3/5. Fairly average. Tasted good for sushi in Louisiana. Food cost: 1/5. Very expensive for 3 measley rolls and basically a sip of miso. Food quality: 4/5 fresh. Not bad. Service: staff were good. Kind and quick. Nothing negative. Atmosphere: interior feels more like the kind of rundown restaurant you find in a podunk town that’s been “renovated”. Clean, but has that unfinished feeling. Overall gave it 2 stars bc after spending $54, I would have hoped to be even somewhat full.. but ended up being really pricey for not enough.

Was visiting Shreveport for the weekend and ran across this place. At first I was a little skeptical because of the location. Living near Baton Rouge, the sushi restaurants have a different look. The atmosphere was so welcoming and relaxing. Our waiter was so friendly. We actually took a family member to try sushi for the first time. He suggested different things on the menu for her to try. She tried it and loved it! This is byfar my second favorite sushi place.

I've tried really hard to make this place into something it's not for me. The convenience this would be for sushi would be outstanding but after yet another attempt to have my mind changed I can say it's simply not worth it. Mindful this is for the sushi only.

Now, I know a ton of people swear by this place so allow me to explain my reasoning.

Portions and price point simply do not align. On top of which the sushi is bland and rather basic. Would be different perhaps if there was some wow factor. Every time I have gone I've tried different rolls and each time I left sorely disappointed and honestly still hungry.

The rolls are tiny. My special rolls were smaller/same size as my sons California roll which seemingly had more filling. The fish is thin, not fresh (not rancid or anything just poor quality) and everything lacks flavor or anything unique.

2 stars is simply because the waitstaff have always been as friendly and helpful as possible. I have urged and will say again, strongly urge others to try other sushi spots for comparison. However if this is your cup of tea I support that ,...

Sushi gen is one of the best sushi restaurants in bossier, Shreveport area. I am a regular and I have always loved their food and service, however I have noticed that many young people go there and do not tip. For people who do not know servers make 0$ an hour. That 2$ An hour all goes to taxes, if u can’t tip don’t eat!!! if you complain about tipping do not get upset when restaurant food prices go up so that they can pay their staff. I see a lot of young kids come into sushi gen and I feel bad for the servers because of how they are treated. I was once a server myself so that’s why I feel so strongly about this. This is a small town and a small restaurant, it’s sad to see these servers who have been with this restaurant still have to deal with these little kids and sometimes grown adults who...
