5 Stars – Saranac's New Hidden Gem! I had an absolutely amazing dinner at Dirty Plate Bistro in Saranac, MI! This locally owned spot is bringing bold flavors and a fresh twist to small-town dining. I ordered the fajitas, and everything—from the perfectly grilled steak and chicken to the fresh toppings, warm tortillas, and seasoned rice—was delicious and clearly made with care. Their rotating weekly menu keeps things exciting, and you can really tell they’re passionate about serving high-quality food. Whether you're a local or just passing through Ionia County, this is a must-try place to eat. They also offer catering services and even full event space buyouts, which makes it a great choice for special occasions. If you're looking for a unique and fresh dining experience in Saranac, Michigan, give Dirty Plate Bistro a visit—you won’t regret it!

Wife and I went here for dinner and I was pleasantly surprised given they just opened a week ago. We split the crab cakes which were great and were topped with some of the best remoulade I’ve had. I had the stuffed quail which was served on a bed of cheesy grits with a sweeter sauce and broccoli. You can tell care went into the dish as the flavors melded perfectly. My wife got the kimchi grilled cheese, normally a lunch item, which had the perfect ratio of cheese, kimchi, and bread. Lastly, our server was very nice and attentive (I wish I remembered her name). REALLY rooting for this place and I’m excited to see what’s next on their rotating menu.

This place is incredible! I’ve been twice now since it’s been on Fulton street! The chef clearly loves creating amazing dishes he can share with fresh ingredients. I love the small menu, too many times you go out and find a menu that has tons to options but none of them are given the attention to make them great. He really puts his heart into his menu which changes weekly based on ingredients he has found locally. On top of the food being incredible the chef came out and talked to us both times and spent time chatting with us (prompted, not forced). I hate to share this gem because if everyone knew how great the food and the experience is, I wouldn’t be able to walk in and get a seat, but that’s selfish! This guy deserves to be packed to the brim with a line...
