Abo's Pizza was my first Boulder pizza experience, and I was sincerely disappointed.
I ordered two pizzas for an informal office party, using the online order function. When I arrived at the North Boulder location to pick up my order, the pizzas were not done; they were not even prepped to go into the oven. After a 17 minute wait, I received my pizzas and took them back to the office. After doing so, I discovered that (1) one of the pizzas was made incorrectly; and (2) I was not supplied with a receipt. When I called the location, the employee that I spoke to was short and rude; and he did not email me a receipt as I had requested. When I went to the location after work to pick up the receipt, an employee stomped out of the back area; handed me a random (incorrect) ticket; and then he walked off!
It pains me to say this, but I would not recommend the North Boulder Abo's location to anyone. The pizza, itself, was good; but the service is absolutely terrible! I have never been so disappointed in a food...
Read moreThis pizza shop is the best one in Boulder. Great environment, generous boss, and awesome staff that cares about making their customers' experiences "Great, not Good" (Big Tom, the longtime owner of Abo's). They ship water in from the east coast for their dough and sauce since it has a better pH level, ensuring it's real, authentic New York style pizza. The by-the-slice deals are perfect for a quick anytime meal. 2 HUGE, fresh, delicious made to order slices and a bottomless fountain drink for under $12 is a steal in Boulder nowadays. They also make wonderful side salads and their homemade brownies and cookies come with a warning, "Be careful, they're highly addictive," and it's true! They sell ranch cups for only 25¢ each and the true locals know that you can make it spicy with their free cholula, giving people the opportunity to make their ranch as spicy as they like:)) If you're in the North Boulder area, I highly recommend giving Abo's on Iris and 28th...
Read moreWe ordered a couple pizzas here a few nights ago and they were both very tasty. I ordered another one and it was just terrible-- absolutely no sauce and felt like eating literal tasteless cardboard. So there's some real inconsistency there. I would give the food 3 stars because of this. We just threw away an 18" pizza minus the two slices we tried to eat, which sucks.
However, the reason I gave it 1 star is because the guy was changing out the trash bags when I got there and didn't bother to wash his hands before handling the pizza box, the parmesan, the food surfaces, etc. This isn't okay and is how people get sick.
I don't like to give them a bad review because the staff were friendly dudes,...
