I have Celiac disease (the actual gluten allergy) and went to Snarfs specifically because they have some tasty Gluten Free sandwiches and once you find good places you remember them. Today may be the last time I go there. I ordered a GF prime rib sandwich around 1pm or so on a Wed, so not particularly busy time, and once my ticket went to the kitchen guys they freaked out. Apparently by telling the cashier that my GF request was for an actual allergy instead of a "preference " the kitchen staff had to change their gloves. They proceeded to loudly bemoan how this guy (me) was asking for such a burdensome request. Mind you, the kitchen is wide open to the rest of the restaurant, so I and everyone else can hear everything they are bellyaching about. The lead kitchen guy then looks at the toppings I've asked for and loses his mind because he will now have to pick up new tomatoes and lettuce (which he didn't need to do). This goes on for at least 5-6 awkward minutes, with the kitchen guys going on and on about what a pain in the ass I am and how I've completely ruined their shift. When they finally called my name to pick up my sandwich I felt like everyone was starring, waiting to see if I was going to say anything. I didn't want to cause a scene, and frankly the sandwich looked delicious, so I left feeling shamed and like a leper. It's really too bad, because their sandwiches are really good. That said , i won't be back, at least to this location. You would think a chain that prides itself on GF options, and is in Boulder, would train their staff to be a bit more professional when someone actually takes them up on their services. As a final insult, I had even tipped them ahead of time because I know that it's a pain to do all this. Never again. ...

Read moreSnarf's Sandwiches is singlehandedly responsible for my newfound addiction to pickled jalepenos. That element alone made an otherwise fresh, but pedestrian sandwich memorable and worth writing home about.
The wild assortment of people eagerly waiting for sandwiches were so spread across all ages and classes that they had to be united by the food. My favorite message-board website used words I couldn't say in front of children when they described Snarf's, so the hype was HUGE before I even I walked in the door. What I got was good, but... I have been spoiled by a place back home that does the same thing on a grander scale for almost the same price.
That being said, the food was fresh and flavor combos on the board were flawless The bread was perfect, almost outshining the ingredients .I want to go back to try every suggested combo on their menu, but with double the star ingredient, extra pickled jalepeno, and extra oil & vinegar. Nowhere I found in town has them beat. (If you find yourself in Bozeman, Montana, I have a place you must try...) #letsguide...
