28 BBQ — Restaurant in Bound Brook

2 star because the flavor is there!!! We typically eat here on a regular as it used to be our favorite Portuguese restaurant around. But that was until today! Today, 5/9 (Mothers Day) I called in an order for food around 1:45. I was told it’d be ready within an hour. Once I arrived, the line was out the door but I didn’t mind. By the time I reached the front it was 3:30 and still no food. The girl with blonde hair in the front is extremely rude & has no customer service skills. When I got the chance to tell her that I had been waiting, she read me the wrong order!! I told her that it wasn’t mine & she said ok. I went back to waiting some more because she had no idea where my order was. Finally after 10 minutes I asked her if she had my order & if I could please pay ahead of time since the food was for my mother. I handed her my card & she ignored the fact that i was reaching out to hand her it. Instead, this employee decides to ignore me!!!! She continued to take orders and help others as I stood right at the counter asking her if it was ready. Once she realized I was walking out to head to another Portuguese restaurant, that’s when she decides to speak to me. But instead, we took our business elsewhere😊 The food stayed unpaid for and I truly hope it comes from this individual’s pay check because it wouldn’t be fair to the owner to have to lose money due to the lack of customer service skills this individual has. & please let me add that she ALWAYS has an attitude as if she hates her job but I’ve never left the restaurant without my food before. Their food is good but customer service needs improvement, particularly with the blonde woman behind the counter. I placed a simple order of large shrimp with rice and large fries over the phone and she kept asking large rice with fries to which I kept correcting to SHRIMP with rice. I was told 25 minutes but arrived earlier as I was already in the area and figured I would just wait there for my order. Well thank god I did that because upon arrival i found that she had my order wrong. She read my order to me as large rice and fries to which I told her no I said shrimp with rice. She then proceeds to tell me “oh I couldn’t hear you over the phone” which to me was incredible because I guess she was just gonna let my order be wrong then? No effort in trying to get the order right over the phone then? She then nods and reads back my order again and says rice with fries and shrimp with rice, to which is still incorrect! I say NO it’s two items shrimp with rice and large Fries. I get no apology or acknowledgment from her besides the fact that she’s just standing there staring at me with dead fish eyes and to top it off as I’m paying for my order that’s finally correct she decides to check her phone right in the middle of my transaction. Not to mention that AirPod in her ear is probably the reason she can’t hear the orders to begin with. I’ve never seen this level of unprofessionalism to be honest with you. Please...

WARNING!!! They do NOT like Americans. They do not like Gays. When customers leave they laugh and talk about them. I've witnessed this. Customer service sucks. Hair in food. Every time I go there the customer service is the worst. Behind the counter they have snotty women that think they're so cute, but they're not. When I walk in they don't say anything to me. Not even a hello. The woman behind counter just looks at me like I owe her something. The customer service is awful. Then when a hispanic person walks in right after me, the same woman says Hello!! How are you? with a big smile on her face. This has happened more than once, but I liked the food so I sacrificed. Yesterday was the last day I will ever go to this crap place. As usual the snotty woman that thinks she's God's gift to humanity gave me attitude. I Ordered my food 25 minutes prior but as usual it wasn't ready So I waited another 10 minutes. I get home and a HUGE LONG WOMAN's hair is on top of the food.I returned to this hell hole and demanded my money back. The idiot woman asked me if I remember how much I paid. As if she didn't know the price of two meals. I don't like games and she saw it in my eyes so she gave me my refund. She is very lucky she gave me my money back. If you don't like Americans and you don't like gays, or customers go back to your country. I don't know how this place is still in business. They are the worst....
