We were excited to come and turn in the coupons that my kids had received at school for a free ice cream cone, only to be met with annoyance and terrible customer service. When my kids handed in their coupons the man instantly rolled his eyes and talked in an annoyed way. Even though we were purchasing ice cream as well. After we ordered and he was making the cones, he was VERY loudly complaining about all the people coming in to use their coupons. He claimed all of the coupons that had been turned in that day(the day they expired) were ruining the overall profit of the day. We were making it so that they spent more money on paying employees than they were making because of all the free ice cream.(he said 30 coupons had been turned in) He also complained about how they didn't have time for this because it was SO busy. There were approximately 10 people in there who already had their food. It was also horribly messy and the play place obviously hadn't been cleaned since it was built. So I can't imagine what they were so busy doing.
The ice cream was fine- but our experience was definitely ruined by a tactless employee, who obviously hates actually having to work. I mean I know we weren't at chick-fil-a where they actually care about you but he could have at least waited until we were out of earshot to complain about us. He was also training other employees so he had to have been some sort of manager or something. What a terrible way to teach teenagers, who are probably working their first job, to...
Read moreThe afternoon staff has been great but this evening, this is what you did wrong: Applied for a job to help people, when you do not like helping people. The first thing to be told when I walk in at 8:53 pm shouldn’t be “Just to let you know we are closing in 5 minutes, so would you still like to order something?” Not update your business hours on both the door and google so we actually know these things and we can avoid this awful service. Decide to have a bad attitude but aren’t prepared to handle your customer’s response. Overcharge me for something not close to what I said because you did not like my dismissive response to your attitude. Try to get away with the receipt and seem worried cuz I asked for it. When I tell another staff member you input my order wrong, don’t shrug and roll your eyes. Announce how badly you want to go home. We get it without you having to say it. Didn’t wear gloves. You were touching everything and then put a cookie on top of my shake with your bare hands that I immediately threw away. Refer back to #5. Because of this, you wasted a teammate’s time who made the item you charged me for but I never said I wanted because it wasn’t cancelled. You had to throw it away which cost you, not me.
I didn’t do anything wrong to you besides get my 5 year old son ice cream because he was crying 5 minutes earlier about his deceased grandma.
Thank you so much for this...
Read moreThis was a bit disappointing. I remember this place from my childhood, so there's that sentimental side of me that is glad this little restaurant is still thriving. But it's pricey and the fish sandwich lacked in all but the grease-factor. I got the tiniest dollop of sauce on the sandwich, the lettuce was a little limp, and the crispy breading of the fried cod was bland. Where's the seasoning? We need it! A sandwich over $12 should come with seasoning, at the least. The cod was dry, too. My mom had a fish basket and refused to eat it because the breading was so thick that the fry didn't cook all the way. There was something of a gummy, uncooked layer of batter between a greasy, crispy, unseasoned breading shell and the dry, unseasoned cod. The fries lacked salt, too. I've just moved here from the southeastern US, so maybe I need to lower my expectations and stop comparing the fried fish in Utah with what they serve in coastal South Carolina. But, c'mon. Seasoning shouldn't be a cultural exclusion here in the Salt Lake valley. It's not like we don't have access to salt. I can recommend the soft serve, though! At the drive thru, they offer a complimentary mini ice cream. Vanilla, chocolate or twist. That's...
