I dunno if daytime's not primetime, but I find it kind of a letdown, especially when you're in the midst of a recreational corner. There was a taut emptiness that spooked me as I walked in, a fireplace more broadly defined by its stones than its passion. A pungent smell permeated the room, and I hoped to goodness that I wouldn't see any "woodside infiltrations." At least I didn't catch sight of any pests. Nobody sat where we were, most of the others in the building were some men raving over sports at the bar. Just before I could say anything about the men's room toilet leaking, a client from the bar was worried about the same detail. I let the lady running the place know this was an issue, so I will not make premature judgments. Speaking of her, she was at least jovial and flexible to our requests; there were no flavored lemonades on the menu, but she did have a packet of strawberry syrup. The flavor of this mixture was not half-bad, and I gave her the heads up that it'd make for a sublime addition to the menu. My sandwich was also surprisingly delicious, meat cooked just right and the bread crispy without sacrificing its fluffiness. This is precisely why, despite my worries, I wouldn't call this restaurant an outright lost cause but a curious wanderer in the woods bumping headfirst into a majestic spruce. It was a bit of a sad experience seeing some of this because, had more attention been put into infrastructure during my meal, it would've carried the nearby creamery and miniature golf course on its shoulders. Care for the customer is a multifaceted effort, and I believe emphasis on property is in order if it expects a busier, not-so-superficial lunch rush. To the crew, I wish you the best of luck and find fortune in...
Read moreDecided to go for dinner tonight after mini golf. They had a guy singing and he was great. The place was clean and had lots of windows, so it was pretty bright and open. However, the bartender was the only waitress. This presented a problem because she was bartending and not really checking in on us. It took a while for us to be able to even order our food even though we were the only table with people at it. And we waited a long while before she came and cleared the dishes and brought the bill. She was very friendly though.
The nachos had real cheese melted on them and they were good. My daughter said her fried pickles were yummy. She had ordered a Caesar salad and never received it, but it was on the bill still? We had to ask for a refund on that.
The kids grilled cheese was VERY dry. Not much butter on it and when I opened it, there was a half slice of cheese on the whole thing! So half of it had no cheese at all. It was like eating dry toast. Gross.
The pizza sauce was so bland, but the crust was crunchy which we like. The only part of the meal that was outstanding were the bourbon turkey tips. Hubby loved them.
Originally, I got a diet pepsi but there was no carbonation. Let the waitress know when she eventually came back, and she offered to get me something else. Asked for a sprite but that also came over with no carbonation? No offer to change the CO, so I stuck with water.
Guess we should have known something was up when we went in at 6:30pm and no one was eating dinner (just people at the bar). Lesson learned. Would...
Read moreIf I could leave one star I would! I will never go back to this restaurant again! I went Monday night to have dinner and drink and was disgusted by the behavior of Kim the bartender. It was early evening and there were completely wasted men at the bar. They should never been served, I have worked as a bartender/waitress for years. One man was so drunk he fell over in the parking lot and couldn't find his Uber. The bartender was laughing at him. She then began yelling at a female customer and her very young daughter. When the woman went to pay she threw her card across the room. I am shocked and disgusted at this horrible display and will...
