Applebee's Grill + Bar — Restaurant in Bradenton

I come here EVERY TUESDAY because my son has music class near by, so I try to burn time. It's pretty Dead , but this particular day it was more people there. I normally just order boneless wings and leave. This day I order the 14.99 all you can eat. They are advertising a NON Alcoholic DRINK new drink. Which is shown in the photo. That's what i ordered. OK so it came in a short glass cup. BUT THAT'S NOT HOW IS ADVERTISED! so I asked the waitress she said her boss said that's how it's suppose to be. So I asked to speak to him.. he came over and said THAT IS CORRECT.. ANYTHING with no alcohol is served in a little glass , BUT THAT'S NOT HOW IS ADVERTISED! he shrugged his shrugged his shoulders like OH WELL. Um OK. So right then I was already piss because I knew I wasn't wrong, so I let it go. I go to drink it IS FULL OF ALCOHOL!!! AND I'M 15 WEEKS PREGNANT!!! I was livid !!!! So my waitress came over and i told her she apologized and was so heart broken when i told her I'm pregnant i clearly can't drink.. she told him,,, he went to register. I called him back over and he was like 🤷🏾‍♀️OK well I've already taken it off the bill. No apologies no nothing! No care in the world. I said so there's nothing else you can do... he said NO. I SAID OK so you're telling me my 14.99 bill can't even be taken off from yall mistake,, that could have been a life or death situation? He said ..um OK,, but I already took the drink off. Sir the drink was $4!!!!! He told the lady to cancel the new drink without alcohol WHICH WAS IN THE REAL TALL CUP which was the problem to begin with !!!!! So not only was he penny pinching and didn't want to make ANYTHING RIGHT but he was WRONG FROM THE BEGINNING ABOUT THE SIZE OF THE CUP ! I could have been in recovery for DRINKING!!! 1 YEAR SOBER and boom get a drink thrown in my face and no sympathy!!! My point is there was no CARE for customer service on his end at all!! Mind you I've given money to this place EVERY TUESDAY!!! HE ARGUED me down about that being the size drink and he was WRONG!!!! that's like seeing the beer in the photo in that tall glass and receiving a tiny glass instead for the same price!!! Like come on USE YOUR BRAIN !! HAD I BEEN ANY OTHER RACE MY ENTIRE BILL WOULD HAVE BEEN...

When our party of 5 got there we asked if there was outdoor seating and we were told yes and given 5 menus and sit anywhere we liked. After 20 mins I had to go in an get a server to take our drink order. First 2 employees needed to have discussion on who was gonna help us. The waitress came out and said she will get our drinks but won't be serving us he will becoming out when he is done. After she returned with our drinks it took another 10 minutes for the waiter to come get order. While he was taking our order my son asked for a vanilla milk shake the waiter went into a story about another customer and a milkshake and ultimately he said he wouldn't forget it. After about 20 mins our food arrived and guess what stuff was missing. My wife order a salad with dressing on the side and no dressing, we had no silverware, the mozzarella sticks we ordered was not there. Oh that milkshake well he forgot it. We asked for silverware and the missing stuff and some BBQ sauce but the waiter never came back. Literally... My mother n law had to go inside and get silverware and a refill on the ice tea. The waiter still never came back with the salad dressing, the silverware, refills and the milkshake. Ever try eating a dry oriental salad? I really had to get my own soda refill from the cooler in my truck. The next time the waiter came back was with the check at the end of the meal. At least he didn't charge us the mozzarella sticks which he never came out with but he did finally bring the milkshake after 40 mins. Horrible service I would not recommend going back. No apologies for the missing food, silverware, and lack of anyone checking in on us. No money off the bill but he did say he wasn't going to charge us for two drinks good thing since we had to get the refills our self and the only reason he didn't charge us was he forgot to put on the bill. With so many other places to eat on SR 64 go elsewhere at least there yiu might get good service and...

Horrible experience at Applebee's. It was never a great time, even in its hayday, but this was the nail in the coffin for my wife and l. We'll never be back.

We went in for a late lunch on a weekday. Ordered from the Two For $25 menu promotion. We used their Menu insert card to point out to the waitress our identical choices; A salad and the burger. Even though we pointed at the 'steps' and photos of the food item, they still managed to get it mostly wrong. Since the waitress was not to be found to check on food or offer a drink refill, we were surprised that instead of the expected $25 bill (plus taxes) it was $48. When I inquired, the already rude waitress got quite defensive, claiming that we'd special ordered. How is asking for the special burger sauce on the side to be some excesive burden? And despite the photos on their own menu, was told fries were not included?

WIth a level of exasperation that surprised us, the waitress snapped the bill out of my hand and stormed off, she and a 'manager' seen by the kitchen, only to reppear without a word and throw down the corrected bill.

And we were not the only ones unhappy, two seperate tables asking to speak to the manager about other complaints in the hour we were there, one being for hair in her food, whereby the 'supervisor' explained that the policy was that male cooks didn't have to wear a hairnet.

A rather stunning experience of chaos and incompetence, one I'm sad to say appears to be the norm at several other visits to different locations during our travels.

TO BE CLEAR. The food itself, while not what we ordered, was good, well prepared and presented. But you pay for the experience, and no matter how good the burger, having to deal with that colors the entire visit.

And if it matters, the facilities were rather shabby and restrooms "disgusting'...
