The Lazy Ballerina Bistro — Restaurant in Bradenton

I never write reviews but wanted to leave a note for the management here. Overall our experience was fairly positive but something happened that left a really bad taste in our mouths.

Our server accidentally charged us twice for our meal. I totally get accidents happen and im not upset with the waitress at all! She was great, I am more upset about how management handled this and explain what happened below:

After we were double charged our server told me they would void the transaction that night. Which was an immediate red flag, since you should always issue a refund immediately in front of the customer if they are doubled charged.

Well, they never voided it. After I waited for 4 days I called and asked if they could please give me a refund for the amount I shouldn't have been charged. The person on the phone told me they would call the credit card company to have it refunded that day. Didnt apologize or anything, which was also a bit strange - she sounded bothered that they had to call the credit card company. I waited 2 more days and still nothing - not even a phone call to let me know what was going on.

I ended up just calling my credit card company and disputing the double charge myself.

ADVICE FOR MANAGEMENT: I understand mistakes happen and am not upset at the servers mistake of double charging me at all. I am upset because this was treated very unprofessionally and your actions spoke that the extra money that was taken from me was not big deal. If this happens in the future, id recommend refunding the customer immediately on the spot. Something like this does not make people feel valued or appreciated...

My family and I had an absolutely amazing dining experience!!! Before we dined in, we looked at some of the pictures posted online, and the pictures looked great, almost too good to be true. But when we actually dined in, the pictures don’t even do it justice. Our food was amazing, and truly top notch!

There were so many great selections, and we ended up having a Starter, an Entrée and Dessert. Our Server was also amazing, she stayed on top of our order, and it was the best service that we have had in a long time. We cannot wait to go back and try more of what they have.

The atmosphere of the Lazy Ballerina is truly exceptional. Because of the way everything is set-up, you really feel like you are at home. All the décor was really thought out, and overall it just seemed, very classy and upscale. As an added bonus, we got to meet the owner Becky, and she checked in with us to make sure everything was going well, and my family and I ended up talking to her for a while. I have 2 young boys, that are full of questions, and she patiently answered all of their questions and even gave them a brief tour. They have never had an experience like that, and it made it even more special.

If you have not had a chance to visit the Lazy Ballerina, I would suggest that you go there, and see what it is all about, they have a little bit there for everybody, and you will not be disappointed. My family and I are looking forward to going...

Update since 1st trip! JANUARY 2025 I called several times because the Key Lime Pie was great our 1st few times having it. However, after New Years the pue changed. It was terrible. The taste is totally different and it ran all over the plate and was like a blob of slime. I found out a new person made it so I recommend getting the lady that made it before back in the kitchen. We definitely won't get anymore pie until it is changed. DECEMBER 2024 Mahi Mahi special was excellent. Key lime pie was the best I've ever had. The only complaint I had was that the server at the bar wasn't very conscious of needs. For instance, she was talking small talk with another customer and didn't even acknowledge I was sitting there until at least a few minutes. Once done, she was really slow at checking on me or asking if I wanted dessert or my check. I understand some people go to just hang out, but I had just driven 8 hours and wasn't interested in just sitting there. Other than that, everything else was perfect, and I would...
