Bi Banh Mi — Restaurant in Bradenton

Last week was my first time going here. I ordered some food and a boba. I’ve had many different banh mis over the years, ranging from “meh” to amazing. Well, last week, I had my first banh mi that was just flat out bad. I like to think of a banh mi as a refreshing sandwich. This one was GREASY, way too warm, and the pork was wayyyy to chunky in size with huge pieces of fat hanging off the meat. I couldn’t eat more than a few bites, and I LOVE banh mi. No real crunch to the bread, no char on the meat. Within 15 minutes my stomach was sounding like the intro to Rack City.

Boba actually couldve been really good, as the flavor was quite nice. Just wayyyy too much sugar. Like so much that you feel sick after finishing it.

Wish the inside has more ambience. No music, no real charm to it. Food being the way it was didn’t help either!

I say this with no malice, as I really really want to see small businesses succeed, especially vietnamese food, which is my favorite! I think with some small changes, this place could be very good! 2 stars because I’d be willing to try something else at this place maybe in the future. If I could give this place zero stars I would. I know it’s sounds dramatic but this place is just not it. 1) The name on google maps and the store is different and confusing if you’re following GPS. 2) They have mochi donuts advertised and posters in their windows but they do not sell it anymore. 3) The menu on their site and in store is different. 4) I asked for specific items on my sandwich due to allergy issues and the person making my sandwich decided not to listen and do it anyway. 5) While ordering I noticed rotted moldy fruit being use to make drinks. 6) While waiting for my sandwich I couldn’t help but also notice all the bugs. Like lots of bugs. Crawling on the counters and floors. This includes dead worms/centipedes. I love this place and the drinks because its close to my house.... When it's open. I've tried going several times just to find out they're closed when Google says it's open. Pretty much every time except twice maybe they've been closed for some reason or another. There's always a sign on the door saying they're closed with no clue on when it'll be open again. It's also over a 1$ fee to substitute the milk for almond milk, which isn't exactly fair to people who can't drink regular milk. There's an 80% chance the door is locked when you get there and the food is expensive. My order went from 7$ to 15$+ with just a corn dog and a drink and the corn dog was extremely disappointing.
