Only getting one star because of the outdoor dining option since the weather was amazing and we were able to enjoy the fresh air. My husband and I decided to venture to Del Ponte's for dinner for date night. We had been there one other time, and am more than certain that we will NOT be returning. I really tried to stay positive as it doesn't seem they host many other nationalities there except for one but no luck! The service sucked, we basically had to ask for whatever we needed as our server disappeared constantly. (ice, napkins, etc.) It's byob and thank goodness as that was the only way I was able to block out my disappointment. The food was bland. We had the rice balls, bruschetta and 2 paninis as we had had pizza the last time we were there so wanted to try something different. Nothing to brag about. We took home whatever we didn't eat and then threw it away. I would have been able to endure all the torture but when I saw the female manager/boss with blond hair in serious need of a keratin treatment, walking around with a bald headed guy and not acknowledge us or even thank us as we were leaving, as she was standing near the exit, and could have done so! She said hello to the other tables near us but just stared at me when she thought I wasn't looking. Great people skills! I will spend my hard earned dollars at an establishment that appreciates ALL people. For a restaurant that has latinos making their Italian dishes, (we saw them) I can only imagine how they are treated. Perhaps they can send one of them over to the Colombian restaurant next door and ask for some seasoning. That is where I will be eating next time I am in the area! The food smelled amazing and the music was lively, I had regretted the entire evening not eating there! $100 thrown down the drain!! Do...
Read moreSomeone recommended DelPonte’s in Bradley Beach for great pizza. We decided to try it Thurs. night, (8/17/23). We were greeted outside by the hostess who gave us a look like we were inconveniencing her. She seated us outside without any pleasantries or even the attempt of a smile. A few minutes later our waitress came over and she appeared to be more miserable than our hostess. I think her name was Angela (or something like that). I asked for a glass of water withOUT ice. Returned w/2 glasses of water WITH ice. Trust me, I can get over there being ice in my water. It’s the fact that she had a look of disgust on her face the entire time. The pizza and salad were fine. Sadly DelPonte’s, your staff made it a terrible experience. We most definitely won’t return. Also, I would not recommend DelPonte’s to anyone for fear of them being treated the way we were treated. We could not get out of there fast enough. My only regret was tipping the waitress. It was only $8, but it’s $8 that she didn’t deserve or respectfully earn. I’m not looking to be entertained l, nor do I need a red carpet rolled out for me. I just want to be treated w/respect. It costs nothing to be polite. DelPonte’s, re-evaluate your staff before they run your business into the ground. Worth noting, there was a young gentleman working outside and waiting on the table next to us. He was very pleasant and very helpful when we couldn’t find our own waitress. I do wish we would’ve gotten him...
Read moreJuly 2025 Our server was pretty good. She asked a few times if everything was okay. After we served our meal, she pretty much left us alone. Atmosphere, they add seats a few steps away for outside dining. On the sidewalk the people were sitting enoy the nice weather. They problem was someone started to smoke. Excuse me, would you please refrain from smoking. We are eating. Why does anyone even have to say that. The meal itself was disgusting. I would rather eat chef boyard out of the can. The serving size was very small. I had meat ksauce. Bahaha ! There was maybe 1 tiny morsal of meat. The pasta was tipped in boiling water. They forgot to stir the pasta. It was all slumped together( fettuccini)and couldn'tbe separated. Another person at our table also experienced the same thing as me. Bread was deep fried 🤢, yet attached to the restaurant was a bakery. The baker needs to teach them how to make bread. It's called bake, not fried .
I will definitely NOT BE RETURNING. My advice is to drive past their are plenty of other places to go in a matter of a few blocks. This place has no gluten-free or special orders to accommodate a person with a special diet. This just reinforces what I just said. Only street parking ! On a Friday night near the beach. Everyone knows what that means. SMH Dear manager, lose the kitchen staff. There are plenty of people out of work and would love the opportunity to show you...
