This place has become extremely rundown and expensive. Customer service doesn’t even exist here. Judy is the owner and she has become Extremely rude and disrespectful. Sometimes you just need to know when to quit. And when you refuse customers any type of customer service, the time is now. I ordered a “snack”. The board says a leg and thigh. I asked if I could get 2 legs instead and was told yes but the guy taking my order asked if a leg is white or dark? I said dark. 38.00 for 1adult and 2 kids. No worries. The receipt didn’t show legs, it just said dark so my daughter went up to make sure they knew 2legs. Judy was ignorant, calling us to the counter and stating three times she could sell me another leg. I just spent 38.00 (a grilled cheese by itself, with one piece of cheese, is 4.49 and mozzarella sticks don’t come with marinara, you have to buy it separate) so I’m not going to pay more for what I was told I could have. The chicken is already done at this point. She tells me I can have my money back and she’ll send the chicken home with an employee. WHAT??! So you still lose the money, now you also lose the product AND a customer. Instead of just giving me what I ordered and was told I could have??! She said she doesn’t care about a bad review bc she’s been in business for 35years. Yup and not ONE upgrade. Broken signs, dirty tables, nasty bathrooms with broken mirrors and filthy pics on the walls, most of the displays that brought people from miles away to rt66 are gone or damaged. Maybe you don’t care about my review but you’re mean and that reflects on your business. Do better or...

We drove all the way to Braidwood from southern Illinois to eat here. Man, I really thought this place was going to be the quintessential diner. It looks like it, it has a great menu, and even a jukebox! The let down was in the food and service. My pizza burger is prepared with mystery meat, for starters. I inquired and was told it’s some pre-made meat. It’s OVAL and doesn’t taste like ground beef! I didn’t eat it. The manager couldn’t tell me what it was. The counter girl is clueless when asked what it was. Also she couldn’t describe the pork tenderloin sandwich either. that I wanted first choice. Got after that. Chili fries were good. The jukebox ripped me off when I chose 5 songs I paid for but got 3. The shake was supposed to be a butterfinger but me thinks they left out the candy bar, see pictures. Great to look at but needs assistance with food...

Horrible food! I wish my order wasn't a to go order! I would have complained right then and there! I should have taken a picture to post also, but I have never had to make a complaint on a restaurant before! ! I ordered a tenderloin sandwich with everything on it, something I don't usually order out. It was pathetic! Just awful! It had, I kid you not, 2 little cubes from a chopped onion on it and about what would amount to half a packet of ketchup and one, yep one, pickle chip! That's it!.It also tasted like fish, as did my fries.. CLEAN YOU FRYERS OR HAVE A DESIGNATED FISH FRYER! I visit this establishment in the summer months, as I have a classic car. I had never ordered food, only ice cream and sodas. ... That is the way it is going to stay and I will not be sending them...

To start off, don't take my rating of 5 stars as set in stone. I'm rating them at five stars because the attraction itself seemed really nice. But they were not open when we were there. So we could not sample the food. It may be real good. But without trying it, I didn't think it would be fair to rate them less without at least trying to food first. So take my rating with a grain of salt. The attraction it self is excellent. I probably should give them 5 stars for the attraction itself. So five stars it is. I love the characters for the experience. As well as the photo opts. The Polk-A-Dot is also a very short walk across and steps down the street from the Braidwood Zoo. So it's kind of like two attractions in one stop. But be careful crossing the road if you walk over.

When I first moved from Rockford to Braidwood I was scared and knew nobody I had just found out I was pregnant with my son and started working at the the local No gas station and noticed Polka Dots right behind the local Berkots the chicken nuggets and mozzarella sticks are always fresh the staff are quick and friendly even under a ton of pressure they kick ass! Been coming here for 4 years now even when I'm broke its affordable and the banana shakes are amazing too! I love that bikers are respected here especially around Sturgis time! :) (Aug 8th!) Thank you dots for being a quick fix for a learning mom and dad its a refreshing break from having to always make dinner plus they do deliver to Godly and Braidwood area. Tip the drivers their job can be stressful!

Polk-a-Dot Drive-In: Great for the photos, less so for the food. If you're cruising down Route 66 and need a quick stop for a classic roadside snapshot, Polk-a-Dot delivers on the kitsch factor. The retro decor and life-sized celebrity statues make for fun pictures, but when it comes to the food—temper your expectations. The fries? Decent. The burgers? Think McDonald's level, nothing memorable. As for the chili cheese fries, I’d steer clear—topped with canned chili that missed the mark entirely. If you're hungry and just need something simple, it'll do the job. But if you're expecting a meal that matches the nostalgia, you might want to keep rolling.
