What a wonderful little place! First time here and will NOT be my last! We’ve driven by it so often and finally stopped for a late breakfast on a Friday….the quality and freshness of the food blew me away. We had a skillet and an omelet and both were so good, fresh hash browns were incredible, portions fantastic and price point excellent. Added a piece of cake afterwards and wow. Just wow. Something about homemade cake, topped with homemade whipped cream, I don’t know how to describe how good that is to me. It’s like being at Grandmas house. 😍 Anyway we’ll be back for the made fresh daily corned beef Reuben and I also want to try some homemade chicken salad. And yes, I will try whatever homemade dessert these angels have dreamed up! The service was quick and so friendly and we got a tip about busiest times (Saturday/Sunday 10a-1p) so I also loved that tidbit. All in all a really great place that Brainerd should be proud of and everyone should...
Read moreTwo Harley riding partners and I stopped here for breakfast this morning as we traveled from Duluth MN to Dickinson ND on our way to Yellowstone. The sign caught our eye and we decided it might be just what we were looking for--a mom & pop place that served good food. Well, we know it's a mom place because she's the owner and we had a wonderful conversation with her. And the fantastic waitress who served us is her daughter (Rain). And we heard about other relatives, including her dishwasher son, who are helping Mom reestablish the Skillet as the place to go! Two of us had excellent breakfasts and one had a sandwich that the kitchen was gracious enough to prepare even though we arrived 40 minutes before the lunch service started. I highly recommend this place and I plan to post to some riding groups to encourage other riders to visit. We could not have been treated better...

You will notice the age of the better reviews. We had been regulars at the skillet before. Now since there reopening, I will just say I will wait in a drive through before going back there. Sad used to be a consistently good place to go. Now low rate food way over priced. To top it off the friendly personable wait staff replaced with the opposite. So .... Oh no this is not a take review! To embellish on my earlier review, the food was below drive through quality. I do not waste my time posting these for no reason. Just trying to save the next guy the dissapointment of being overcharged for what is offered. The fact that the proprietor claims "fake review" is about what I expect considering the interactions we experienced on our...
