Ja-Mi Nails — Local services in Brainerd

So, I choose Ja-Mi nails as they had good reviews online. I went in for my wedding nails with my bridesmaids. My bridesmaids had great service. Me on the other hand, I did not. My pedicure was good. I got to my manicure and it went downhill. The guy doing my nails, clipped my nails at the pedicure bed, but put the bowl of water to soak my hand in on my lap, and was looking at things going on at the salon while pushing back my cuticles. He then moved me to a manicure station, told me that my French manicure with glitter idea was not what he would do, and thought it wasn't classy, but didn't offer any other ideas. I probably would have been better off with a female to gush over ideas...I needed a little help with my bridal nails. He wasn't happy putting glitter on my French manicure. He didn't offer to do a design or rhinestones...and I had already told him I was a bride the next day. Then upon payment, I asked if a card was ok. He asked if I could pay by check. I didn't have a check (who does???) or cash and handed my card over. He huffed and puffed over running my card. He lost 50% of my cash tip I was planning on giving him right there. I almost cried afterwards. I just wanted a good nails experience with my maids and it went downhill. They all had a great time...and another bridal party came in afterwards with champagne and seemed to be doing well. Just a disappointing...

March 21st, I was visiting family in MN - I wanted to get my nails done and this place had outstanding reviews so I made up my mind that I was going to try this place. First off - I went in wanting gel nails done - which I have had done before so I knew the process, well the guy that did them did not take care of my cuticles or nails for that matter before putting the artificial nails on. Second - while he was filing the artificial nails, he made my skin raw on multiple fingers - which were red and burned for hours afterwards. Third - I hate it when they do not make conversation or let me know what they want from me but instead they point and are extremely rude when I don't know what they want. With that being said I will NEVER return to this place and I will NOT recommend my friends and family here. I was extremely disappointed with the service and how the nails turned out. The guy did not fill my whole nail with the gel so they already look like they need to be filled and when it came to drying - he told me one cycle and I was good to go, well my nails smeared while leaving. NEVER AGAIN! They were rude from the minute I walked...

Extremely poor service. We were told to come back at 3 for our pedicures. We came back a little before 3 and waited until 4 to finally be seen. The women that did my pedicure personally, did not wash or sanitize any of her utensils before starting on me. Once seated we were never asked what kind of pedicures we wanted and everything was rushed. They totally forgot the massage for one of my girls and another one had to go to a different place to have her pedicure fixed because the women doing her pedicure wasn’t listening about her hang nails. I understand that no one wants to be at work late but they didn’t close until 5 and we were suppose to be seen at 3. So poor time management skills on their part. I get that it gets busy; however, this is extremely unacceptable. Extremely rude employees, poor customer service, and lack of cleanliness.
